game_over
I have only had my iMac a couple of day's.. it's the 21.5" 3.6ghz - 500gb hdd from the Apple store. It's had no more than a couple of hours use, I turned it on last night and noticed it's just not very fast anymore... just little things such as: - loading web pages - scrolling is choppy and lags - the latest forum activity at the top of this page has a lag when it automatically updates as i'm writing - adium has a delay when i press enter sending a message to it actually appearing, and it seems choppy as the fade effect makes it appear - maximising/minimising has a delay and seems slighty choppy All i have really installed is Adium, World of Warcraft, Logic Pro 9 and some audio units, i still have over 400GB space. I'm a total Mac n00b so i don't know where to start like i would in Windows. Can anyone offer any advice? where would u look if you were having this problem? Are there any tools i can download? or tools readily available? Thanks :)
Guest
Hey, You may be experiencing the same problem some owners of the 27" model have had: http://www.macrumors.com/2009/10/30/apples...ormance-issues/ When you are experiencing the lag, can you open Activity Monitor (spotlight search "Activity") and check RAM & CPU usage? Even post a screenshot here of each screen please. (Command-Shift-3: for a screenshot). Chris.

kizzaaa
Not good. :/ In my three years of owning a Mac I only experienced 1 kernel panic and it was rarely powered off.

It should be pretty easy to have a software fix, I'd expect a fix by the end of the month

Elliott
Looks like it's definitely a software fix, since it's supposedly fixed in the latest seed of 10.6.2. From the seed note: AirPort- Resolves a performance issue on new iMacs.
