Goriest game you've ever played?

Depends, are we talking amount or realism? If it's realism/detail, probably Soldier of Fortune 2. In terms of amount, 1994's "Rise of the Triad" still wins if EKG mode is turned on.

One of the goriest games I've ever played, could be Turok 2: Seeds of Evil.

1. That weapon that drilled into the skull of your enemy and then exploded.

2. Blasting any monster would reveal their skeleton under the chunks of skin and muscle you blew off!

... It's not full of blood I guess. But it's still pretty nasty!

It's just that I forgot about that game, I absolutely love Carmageddon 1 and 2. I wish they re-released them on gog.com or something. >:[ I'd love to play the original in high (640x480+) resolution.

Solider of Fortune, you could shout at someone and their limbs would come off. Carmageddon wins for body count though, 500 people a race. :|

I'm sure the new L4D will be looking to take that title though.

Nothing beats Manhunt.

...and as far as nextgen/HD version goes..you can keep dreaming ( I will too :D),ain't gonna happen. The visuals would be too realistic and today's crappy ratings will never allow it.

Fallout 3 I guess. Digging through sacks of organized body parts certainly seems fitting. Bloody mess perk also helps make the most of it.

Personally, I like to organize the body parts of someone that was particularly annoying to kill, and find some way of creating an explosion near them.

My character is a bit mental, with a few moral rules, and I'd like to keep him that way.

Does anyone remember a game called Thrill Kill?

It was banned before release, because it was that gory (apparently). They toned it down and re-jigged it into a game called Wu-Tang: Taste The Pain. :p

It's one of the only games I can think of that had a lot of controversy about it worldwide, which eventually led to it's ban and cancellation. I remember it being a rather big deal when I was younger.

Rise of the Triad was an awesome game.

i was going to say "gears of war 2" but i think fallout 3 might have it beat.

Kill thrill 1998 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrill_Kill

This game was bad ass, though EA bought out Virgin Interactive and prevented the release. There was a leaked copy from the devs that you could play on a modded PS. I was one of the fortunate ones to be at the right place at the right time to get this game :p Cleetus was wicked, after he killed you he would take a bite out of the leg he just beat you with!

This one time when I kill a random guy.

What? It was a game to me...

On a serious note, I guess the Left 4 Dead 2 demo?
