deletedxyz
$400 for a 360 AND PS3? Walmart pre-empts Black Friday Walmart fires the first shot in the holiday retail wars, with Saturday deals better than many Black Friday bargains. The best part? A very game-friendly "sale" on the Xbox 360 Arcade. Time to stock up on systems. We're edging closer to Black Friday, the magic shopping day where people literally kill and die over low prices on all manner of things they don't need. Expect long lines at stores, advertisements leaked online, and at least a few trampled grandmas thrown into the mix. Walmart seems to be doing something new to avoid this trend, however, by offering some pretty tasty deals in the weeks leading up to Black Friday. It starts this weekend, with an impressive deal for gamers. If you go into the store on Saturday, November 7, you'll be able to pick up the Arcade Xbox 360 system for $200—the normal price—but for that day the system will come with a $100 gift card. To truly stack your entertainment center, put that $100 card towards a shiny new PlayStation 3. That's right, you'll be able to pick up an Arcade 360, and a 120GB PlayStation 3, for only $400. You could get a Wii and the Arcade Xbox 360 for $300. Or you could just buy a game or two for your new 360. There are other deals to be had, such as a Blu-ray player for $150, or a $300 laptop—standard stuff for this sort of ad. Rolling out these deals before Black Friday should give Walmart an edge; the retailer will have little competition this weekend in terms of excitement, and this deal could even spark lines in some locations. If you take advantage of this offer, be sure to let us know how it went. Thanks to Kotaku for the heads up. Source: ArsTechnica
The Teej
Talk about an explosive start! To think only 2 years ago you couldn't even get just a PS3 for $400! This is a great deal and the best way to get someone invited into the next generation.

Is there something like this available in the UK? I don't have either a 360 or a PS3, so I could get a good deal on either / both I'd be interested.
