daiv_
Game developer RedLynx has been exploring a novel marketing technique for its products. Instead of trying to get all its titles removed from torrent sites, the company itself is distributing 'hacked' copies of the games, hoping to convert torrent site users into paying customers. source probably did this wrong somehow, sorry aha. ------------------------------------------- Staff Note - Anaron: May I remind you that admitting to piracy will result in an increase of your warning level. Subject Delta
Nowadays a lot of people who pirate games play the single player versions, and then later on pay for the ability to use multiplayer, maybe more game studios should consider these kind of move with the single player components of games

The demo was actually the full game just time locked.

NoneAvail
Whoa..... Smart though like Frank said, People will buy the game just for the MP action. Or if they own a Console, get it for that cause Live is soooo much fun while screaming on the mic.

ylcard
hm... Let's give all the gamers who don't like paying for games so that maybe they will end up buying them? I downloaded DAO before it was released because I was impatient but I pre-ordered it on Steam (had to wait untill Nov. 6 to get it). Your point ? Don't fight piracy, it'll get the game eventually, what you CAN do is make good games like DAO and then people will buy it regardless of their access to pirated version(s). **** games like MW2 deserve to be pirated to the point the company cries and fixes the bloody game. BlackSteyrAug
hm... Let's give all the gamers who don't like paying for games so that maybe they will end up buying them? You're missing the point. Some pirates will use this method, but another part will actually end up buying the game.

LOC Veteran Posted November 9, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 9, 2009 what wrong with it,if i may ask ? The PC version is gimped beyond belief - no dedicated servers, max of 18 players online, no mod support, you can't even kick/ban people from your own server. Plus paid DLC!
