Zeke
Hi everyone. A friend sent me here, saying that it was a very good forum for help... Anyways, I've had problem with WindowsME for a while. (Yes, I know it sucks) Whenever I Log Off, turn off the computer, or Retart, I get a "REGENV32.EXE" error. But that's just the beginning. Most .exe files won't work, and just give me and error.exe type message. Through www.antivirus.com I've found the virus name, PE_SPACES.1445 . It's a nasty, nasty virus that stays in the Master Boot Record. (Someone please tell me exactly what that is, my idea is hazy at best.) I erased the entire C Drive, to no avail. An anti-virus program from antivirus.com won't work anymore. The same .exe error. I was told by someone that typing " fdisk -mbr" would help, if I used the Boot-Up Disk for WinME, but it didn't. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

kintamanate
I have this under windows 2k. It was like that since I first installed it. Exactly what harm can it bring me? (note: dual boot with winME. winME never gets that error. only 2k. )
sunnyy4
If you can, you might want to do a low level format.
Zeke
It's been a while, but I fixed it. I did the "fdisk /mbr" thing, then used my Emergency Boot Disk to erase C: Drive, then re-installed Windows 98. I hate that virus, and I hope the writer of it burns in Hell with nothing but an iMac to keep him compnay.
