Modern Warfare:The Day After The SmoKe Cleared

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what you guys thought about the game after playing it today. Personally i thought is was a pretty solid release. I never had any of the server/connection issues so many ppl complained about. The graphics were gorgeous and more crisp than the original. You could tel that they really optimized the engine this time around. The game will probably run decently on the scrappiest of hardware. Gameplay was on par with the original. I kind of like the fact that the matchups are smaller.Actually gives you a chance to spawn in and cover some ground before getting spawn-pwnced like in the original. Love the new gamemodes, probably the best new thing about the game. So many to choose from that the replay value is gonna be good for a while. 3rd person 1v1 is definitely interesting to say the least. Havent't completed the single player but what i have done on it so far was good. All-in-all i'd give it a 9/10. Lets hope they release some nice DLC in the future to keep things fresh!

This is my first FPS game for the console, its a little strange coming from a mouse & keyboard. But so far I'm loving it!

Awesome GFX, great game play and the "rumble" from the controller make it "feel" more immersive (is that a word?)

Just wish I had 5.1 sound :p but lovely on a 37" 1080p TV :D

were talking about pc gameplay here but glad you liked the console version too...:)

i dont think it matters unless you want to continue to beat the horse with the whole steam/ded servers garbage we're tired or reading about.

anyways,

its overhyped.

great game as the one before it. but i havent had a single WOW moment.

the blood splatter is really annoying, especially playing on veteran difficulty.

mp is great, but then again, it always was.

Was a bit dissapointed that you cant peek from behind a wall, melled a wall a couple of times and think I did actualy drop a grenade at my feet once out of habit. However love the game so far and look forward to playing it on mulit player.

Normally, I'd be all over a PC title like this. And for reasons that I posted here, that isn't the case anymore. Infinity Ward has let me down. Of course, there's always that chance that I buy it simply because it's a sequel to one of my favourite games of all time.

Maybe the question should be, how many people were upset about how the ruining the PC version that they aren't going to buy it, but are still going to play it on a PC. through other means. not that i did or anything.

As no one is discounting the PC version I wont be getting this for a while, as the is no way I'm going to pay more than the console version.

Really **** off with the supermarkets as none have stocked the PC version.

Single player starts off fine but gets a bit to retarded later on the story is just meh and theirs no missions which really stand out like all ghillied up and the ac-130 mission in the first game, 9v9 isn't to bad in multiplayer and theirs no lag but still can't see myself playing it as much as I did the first one, the game just seems lacking it's almost as if they've just spent the entire time trying to make another AC-130 mission and story etc. were just quickly thrown in which really is a shame because the game really does start off brilliantly. o well surprise an over hyped game is over hyped :dontgetit:

Edit: game installed fine for me no problems what so ever.

steam is fine

Agreed.

iwnet is fine

I can't completely agree with that

about the peek thing though...

It's missed, so many times last night I went to lean and end up Flash Banging myself or knifing the wall.

I am frustrated though that it's a bitch to get NAT working properly. It worked once for me and then went back to strict. I'm techy, so I'll get it working eventually. But that piece goes against their claims of "make it easier for the casual gamer". In the past, nobody had to worry about opening ports for NAT.

I haven't touched SP yet, MP is fun even with IW.Net. My first introduction to MP was 2 redirects to a new host, from there it picked up and ran fine most of the night.

And you gotta love the reports of a wallhack already being released on their uber secure and cheat protected model. Wonder if they have way to detect the modded controller cheats for 360.

Console shooters don't belong on the PC.

Enjoy your 10$ map packs, NAT port forwarding, low population games, lag, no clans, etc.

As much as it kills me to say it, the game itself is pretty good. I'm just an idiot who continues to have a tiny molecule of a sliver of hope that they will fix it with Dedi's (a IW.Net & Dedi hybrid basturd child will suffice) and return lean to the game.

Seems over-hyped to me (the PC version at least). I don't plan on buying the game because I don't want to support a company who no longer cares for the PC gaming community (I'm a PC only gamer). Modding/dedicated servers greatly extend the life/overall enjoyment of a game but they took that away. The game has less overall features than COD4 and costs $10 more. No thanks. Maybe when the game is in the bargain bins or if they ever add dedicated server support I'll pick it up. Until then I'll stick with COD4, dragon age, borderlands, and any valve/blizzard game.

Oh as for the whole using Steam thing -- not sure how well that is gonna work. All other Valve games seem to have issues with hackers (VAC isn't really that great at detecting hacks) -- so I won't be surprised if hackers become a problem for MW2 especially without server admins/the ability to kick people.

I can see why console gamers may like it but anyone who only plays PC games should know better than to buy into MW2.
