Livin in a box
I'd rather have Twitter support, but I can't complain for new free features. Though I'd rather see cross game voice chat first. Well that was supposedly coming this month also, so they're either keeping that under wraps or it's still not ready. And it was Naughty Dog who revealed it, so it's from a credible source. .Ark
These comments really do puzzle me, what exactly is it about Live that is so damn fantastic??Cross game chat? Well that seems to be on its way... All I want PSN to do is offer me a store that I can get demos from, play online with friends. Yep seems to do those for me :) Added in with Vidzone and Life (for weather and news headlines) not aware of anything on 'Live' that offers that services for free or paid for yet? (could be wrong) What is it that makes Live so spectacular that it's worth an annual fee, no matter how minimal it may be. Can someone please tell me what exactly cross game chat is? Corris Veteran Posted November 12, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 12, 2009 Can someone please tell me what exactly cross game chat is? Talking via a mic to other people in different games. Apparently the feature is the second coming of sliced bread.

.Ark
Talking via a mic to other people in different games.Apparently the feature is the second coming of sliced bread. haha so why would I wanna be talking to someone in a different game while I'm gaming? I have heard so many people rant about the feature (or the lack of it in this case) but it seems like something I would never use while in a game.. the more features the better tho I guess.. Thanks for clearing that up for me Corris!

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted November 12, 2009 Author Subscriber² Share Posted November 12, 2009 Yes, Facebook is coming to PS3 says Sony source We knew it was coming, the pictures yesterday proved it, and now a source close to Sony had said once again that it is a sure thing. Still, though, there is no date or even a hint of when to expect it and the offending images have been pulled due to being posted "by mistake". Sony PR says more information is to be announced "very shortly". Via Eurogamer. Source: http://www.vg247.com/2009/11/12/yes-facebo...ys-sony-source/ Hopefully a standalone app, and if so, I guess the plus over 360 is links on it can actually be open. That's a bit of a downer on the 360 on Twitter/Facebook when someone posts a link and you can't open it.

People actually play that monstrosity?... I'm probably just biased because I bought into the hype and named my PSN ID and Neowin name after it  `twas a sad day for me when I played the demo....actually it was the same day I graduated from high school so that definitely cushioned the blow. BoredBozirini
I bet $10 that the Facebook "application" is just an XMB shortcut for the web browser. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Corris Veteran Posted November 12, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 12, 2009 Lair, the cool kids still play and talk about Lair. Whats wrong with Lair? That game was brill, imagine Rogue Squadren, but take out all the awesomeness of star wars, and all the fun, and bam, AAAAAAAAAAA+ would buy from again. I bet $10 that the Facebook "application" is just an XMB shortcut for the web browser.Hopefully I'm wrong. That would be true, but that wouldn't need any settings like the ones shown in the pic since it would be saved by the PS3 web browsers cookies. andrew_f
I can see the Facebook integration being "Username has achieved XYZ trophy on Uncharted 2" going on people's news feeds.
WastedJoker
I can see the appeal of cross-game chat, tbf. You can have a bunch of mates playing a bunch of games and basically shooting off at each other, having a bit of craic and even arranging meeting up at the pub :p

The one thing that XMB does not need is more shortcuts. If anything, I wish we had the option to remove certain shortcuts. That's right... I'm looking at you What's New and Life With Playstation.
