JetFixxxer
Lets say I'm hosting a game. Is this how it works.. MYRig ====> IWNet <===== 17 other players. Is IWNet actually checking for altered files? Seem like it just a match maker and nothing else.
LOC Veteran Posted November 12, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 12, 2009 Only one game mode has 18 players, Ground War (which actually contains Team Deathmatch and a couple other game modes actually). All other game modes are 12-16 players. IWNet isn't checking for altered files, VAC handles that side of things. It's just a matchmaker and it *might* keep stats server side now, not sure on that one though.
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted November 13, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 13, 2009 As far as I know, IWNET is a matchmaking service that implements multiplayer through listen servers with a best possible host. And Steam Cloud handles server-side storage of your multiplayer progress (I think).
