We just got back from a 'Just Cause 2' event in London where developer Avalanche made a very special announcement regarding the PS3 version of the game.

The PS3 version will have a few more interesting features than the X360 version.

More:

- Video capture feature

- Can auto-record/record last 30 seconds of gameplay

- Manual record up to 10 minutes

- Can transfer directly to Youtube

If we receive more information about anything else related to Just Cause 2, we'll post it in our news section asap.

We'll also have a preview ready of the event/game very soon! Stay tuned for more info.

On a related note thank **** a game other than Noby Noby Boy and Pixeljunk Eden is going to use this - Great feature for some games devs are ignoring, and the two most unnecessary PSN games are using it

Fits well with an open world game to show off cool stunts/etc.

Yeah, **** twitter, where's Uncharted with this? Every game that involves collecting stuff (AC, Uncharted, GTA, etc.) should have this.

In PixelJunk Eden it was very useful for me. I watched some videos on Youtube that helped me get some of the trophies.

Useful for 1 person to do a walkthrough yeah, but that would be the same for every game in the world just about.

Useful as a feature for thousands of people to all use in Eden? Not really, as there's nothing inherently unique about the gameplay/levels and the game is linear in the sense that everyone sees just about exactly the same thing. The spectra are in the same place for everyone.

However in an open world game, it's a sandbox, best use for Youtube recording, or then you get a MP game, record good kills/matches, or a racing sim, record your fastest laps, etc.

All of those games have non-linear approaches/events that can occur.

Which is why it's hugely disappointing no other dev has really used it, I guess it's because when it comes to multiplatform games are devs hell implementing a unique PS3 only feature, half of them can't even give us a decent 360 port. There's no excuse for the Sony 1st party ignoring it though, I guess GT5 is the first big title to use it.

Yup, helped me too a good bit for some of those stupid ones, lol.

Will be exactly the same for Just Cause 2 too, nothing is ever truly sandbox or random, maybe enemy places and such like.

But no doubt missions will generally always go the same way, and collectables will always be in the same place, could never sell a guide with the game if they weren't.

So besides Multiplayer, I don't see how this would be used any differently than PixelJunk Eden.

Pretty sure you just tried to compare Just Cause to PixelJunk Eden

It's stunts/jumping out planes, setting off cool explosions and other whacky stuff people will record from this, things you don't have enough flexibility over with a 2D platforming puzzler like Eden.

You know yourself you probably spend a good bit of time in GTA just mucking around with the vehicles/environments and every now and then something cool happens.

Just search for GTA stunts/collisions in Youtube :p

Oh I know. :p

I was comparing the uses for the recording, no doubt there will be a ton of random crap that will go on, nature of these games.

But I can bet it will be used/watched far more for Trophies and such like, I know that is what I would be using them for.

Game is looking really nice though, might have to get it, lol.
