Extend the functionality of your Magic Mouse or multi-touch trackpad

Recommended Posts

Found these while trying to cure some boredom. I haven't tried MouseWizard, but it seems to restore some essential functionality for those who have a Magic Mouse (middle click). BetterTouchTool seems to be a nice replacement over the aging MultiClutch project, adding new gestures such as three finger tap. It even has some Magic Mouse functionality like three finger swipes, though no middle click as MouseWizard boasts. (developer states it's on his to do list)

If you have a Magic Mouse?

By using MouseWizard, you can give your Magic Mouse two extra buttons, 'pinch' and 'bloat' trackpad gestures, and special features such as 'coverup', to make your Mac go to sleep.

This is exactly what I was looking for (Apple should have added that by default really :/). Did anyone try it before I spend $2.50 on it? (I'll most likely buy it when I get home tonight)

Eh... How safe is this? I don't want it to permanently mess up my Magic Mouse or anything...

It's a software that runs on your mac, worst case scenario you can uninstall it and you lost your $2.50

BetterTouchTool is awesome and keeps getting more awesome every day. Some days there are like 5 updates :p

Mouse Wizard on the other hand didn't work at all.

Yea, I was just about to download the Mouse Wizard trial but then I checked BetterTouchTool and I think I'll try it in a few weeks (too many updates right now but it's looking promising)

I agree, Mouse Wizard causes more trouble than it's worth. I like the commands in it better than BetterTouchTool (2 fingers for middle click) .. but it's not worth the trouble.
