kingroach
Just bought a PS3 slim 250GB. After opening up; really disappointed to see that it didn't come with any component cable. I thought the new slim systems come with component cable. Went to a local gamestop and they have madcatz 3-in1 component cable for $10 and official ps3 component cable for $25. Is there a any difference between the two? or are there any other place to get cheap componnt cable? looked at ebay and there are many component cable for like $6. Should I buy those instead? can ps3 output 1080i thru componnet?. My tv doesn't have HDMI but supports 1080i component. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted November 17, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted November 17, 2009 If you don't mind waiting, even cheaper. Madcatz cable will be fine, official is a waste of money.
Sikh
Component and HDMI are the same thing but HDMI does HD Audio, component doesnt. But they both handle the same resolutions. Im pushing 1080P on my component and my tv plays it fine. Switching to HDMI its the same thing. Now if I have a receiver and surround sound I would go HDMI, other then that dont believe what people say, Component is just as good as HDMI. kingroach
Thanks for the monoprice link. Ordered one. I guess I will just wait couple of days. Switched to ps3 after my 3rd xbox 360 died.. Hopefully these new ps3's dont have any disk reading issues.
