Ridlas
Hello, I have this issue since I reformatted my PC that whenever I put a new movie in my Videos folder in windows, it wont show at all on the ps3. It only shows the old stuff. No matter what I do, I can't get it to update the list and show the new contents. Any ideas? Also, I download the movies in the MKV format and then use MKV2VOB to convert to AVI, since VOB doesn't work at all on the ps3 o_o. It used to work before but now, no luck :( Thanks, Daniel
AbandonedTrolley
I thought VOB was still fine? What 'media server' are you using? PS3MS, TVersity or Mediaplayer?
Ridlas
Windows Media Player 12. What do you recommend?
Sethos
PS3 Media Server for sure, best one out there.
AbandonedTrolley
Personally I would use PS3 Media Server, it's pretty damn good :) there is a thread https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=614188 here all about it. (Y)

+Elі Subscriber² Posted November 18, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted November 18, 2009 Another vote for PS3 Media Server.
Ridlas
Could it also be because I have my Windows Firewall turned on? Is having my Linksys router firewall enough?
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted November 18, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted November 18, 2009 Yeah you really can't go wrong with PS3 Media Server, will play everything you throw at it one way or another. Guide in my sig. The application is a bit power heavy user focussed, lots of options/GUI is slightly complex, but it's fairly well documented. Ridlas
So it'll convert movies automatically?
richardsim7
Yeah it streams them over converted, it's great. Another vote for PS3MS! :D
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted November 18, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted November 18, 2009 So it'll convert movies automatically? Yeah if it needs to. Does it on the fly within your PC memory (default buffer is 400mb), it won't actually edit/convert the file on your PC permanently.
.Ark
Meh PS3 MS has been so unstable on my Mac.. Its been working fine for the past month and all of a sudden (no changes done) it can't find the ps3 anymore.. the debug says it should show up on XMB.. Its a great piece of software but beware of the fact that it could be unstable sometimes.
