red.
I don't see how this can be negative. It's an option for those who want to use it, it's not forced on you in anyway. Sure you may have to buy a new TV to use it but i don't see how that's different from buying a HDTV if you want to get a HD picture from your 360/PS3 instead of SD. M_Lyons10
This does seem like a gimmick... And I would NOT buy a tv so that I could play a game in 3D... I seriously doubt many people would...
Massiveterra
Isn't the Xbox 360 already compatible with 3D games? And the James Cameron Avatar game will be the first game to utilize the technology?
Joel
That may be so, but it in no way should stop Sony for providing such support toa) Future proof the PS3 and b) Deliver the service to be capable of receiving it No, of course not. But to say there is no hardware to purchase to take advantage of this feature is not quite accurate. That's the point I'm having an issue with. That's like saying that there's no hardware to purchase to hear the 5.1/7.1 tracks, since many people have receivers capable of decoding said digital tracks. Funny cuz I just bought a PS3 last nigh...lets just say it ****es me off that you have to install demos after you download them. Wish they could do what MS did with the Xbox360, where there is no install. While it doesn't **** me off, I do find it weird also.

spenser.d
I've gotta believe that Sony is using the PS3 as a guinea pig to test 3D gaming with a very niche market (if any) with plans for use in the distant future. There are way too many people out there that don't even have an HDTV yet. People aren't going to buy into 3D TVs for quite a while. -Spenser
