Welcome Screen in Windows 2003

Recommended Posts

I've posted a picture of the Icon at the top of the start-menu and of the Welcome-Screen, there isn't much to see really - Microsoft obviously didn't want people to use the welcome screen, so they saw no need to change it ( Bloatware.. )

Could not get fast user switching to work. The best I could do was change my log off dialog :o

Log%20Off%20Screen.png

Used resource hacker on Shell32, dialog 1071

These features would be pointless for Microsoft to put into a Server OS, as only one person needs to log in and there would be no need to have the fruity Welcome Screen on a server.

If so, then why Windows Server 2008 (R2), Windows Server 2012 (R2) and the future Windows Server 2016 have a welcome screen?
