Waylander
first game was massively overrated i thought, i wont bother playing a sequel.
Ayepecks
first game was massively overrated i thought, i wont bother playing a sequel. Wasn't my kind of game, but if they make it a little more accessible I'd consider it.
KyleGM
Loved the game, thought the ending was quite immense, did start to get a little repetitive though, but definitely could become a great series :)
WastedJoker
I couldn't get the hang of the controls enough to enjoy the first :(
Emn1ty
Just use the force gun. I call it the "thoomp" method. Kills everything in most every room when upgraded fully, and its fun to listen to. Only thing it can't kill are the bosses.
Spysix
Loved the first one. Read about 2nd on game informer I think or somewhere similar. Controls are alright, I had this for the PC because that's the only way you can play horror :p I don't see how it could be overrated, maybe underrated. Livin in a box
I've never played any of them, not even the Wii version that I don't believe anyone has mentioned. Some of the Xbox fanboys at school have been having arguments with other PS3 owners about how Dead Space will always stay a 360 exclusive, and they keep on saying how the Wii one wasn't proper and wasn't done with the same development studios. o_0
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted November 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 29, 2009 First one was over rated and got old fast. "oh look a body on the floor, I wonder if this one will come back to life. Oh my god I'm totally shocked it came back to life." /turn corner "oh look a body on the floor, I wonder if this one will come back to life....." ;) zZzZzZz
Nayos
I liked the original game but I'm not a fan of "monsters" as enemies. Since it was supposed to be a scary game I would have preferred something supernatural. As deadmau5 would say, "ghosts N stuff"

I doubt you're first body you knew it'd jump ;P They're horrors version of landmines. What made the game scary that separated other horror games was the gothic (no, not hot topic gothic, medieval gothic.) architecture (ribbed n such to mimic human anatomy), the crazy alien movie like music that'd jump in when a monster comes in view and the kill syncs. Also drop kicking undead babies... But there are some parts that I agree do kinda throw it off the gravy train. -Some repetitiveness. Move the marker here, there. Fix this, then fix that. Oh crap this broke, fix it. Well...you ARE an engineer, it's your job. -Plot or story of how this happened is a little too funky that makes you go: What? -Boss fights are easy, even on hard difficulty. Maybe if all of their weaknesses weren't glowing tumors...

Actually, having played just about every RE game in the series, if I see a "dead" enemy on the floor in any game, my first reaction is to usually shoot it  One of the oldest tricks in the book imo. So yeah I knew it was gonna happen or there was a high possibility of it considering the horror theme of the game :p

S00N3R FR3AK
Well I just picked it up for $10 and I have to say it is the best $10 Ive ever spent. I am on ch4 on the moment and while it has seemed a little repetitive with all the back tracking I am greatly enjoying this game and hoping that it is in the next OPM. Remysaus
The first game was pretty epic, the only thing that bothered me are the enemies, they're not scary at all, in fact, I thought they were pretty hilarious from time to time when they're flailing their arms/claws around while running. Though without these huge limbs the best thing about the game (lineguns rock) wouldn't really work.
MytMowse
Hope they make a 2. Disappointed that they made the prequel for the wii.
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted November 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 29, 2009 But would it feel like a horror game if those elements weren't there? My point wasn't that they should have removed it from the game, simply use it less :p That's like saying if you take away the wheels of the car would it still feel like a car..I don't know if you heard me the first time. So yeah I knew it was gonna happen or there was a high possibility of it considering the horror theme of the game :p Yeah, I agree with that. Perhaps that is one of the reasons I enjoyed Doom 3 as, aside from some of the obvious flaws with that game, WHO THE HELL EXPECTED THE MONSTER THING TO RIP OPEN THE STAIRS AND JUMP AT YOU?!! :o But yeah, Dead Space was still a decent game. Look forward to another. (Y)
