Scorbing
I need a utility that can compress and decompress RAR as well as Zip files. I find Stuffit annoying so other suggestions will be appreciated.
hjf288
UnrarX handles RARs, isnt zip handled by default? Try Stuffit expander but it aint free

Quillz
RarMachine + UnrarX is all you will ever need.
+jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted November 26, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted November 26, 2009 A lot of them are rubbish, as I've found. UnrarX is the one I use most for extracting, but theres no finesse to the program. It just seems to go ahead and extract without you asking it to whenever you click on an archive. There's one out there called The Unarchiver - avoid this one like the plague. It only works half the time.
Kreuger
You can try p7zip
Elliott
There's one out there called The Unarchiver - avoid this one like the plague. It only works half the time. I usually only run across ZIP, with the occasional RAR or STX, but it always works for me. :p Oh well, though. I'm just one guy.

Hot
Another vote for UnRarX, because I've had first hand experience with other RAR unarchivers for Mac inexplicably fail to extract a perfectly good archive, while UnRarX did it correctly. PyX
Never failed me. Positive. It's an awesome app. Well in fact I noticed a very small bug but it has nothing to do with compressing / decompressing.
