SYBINX
Prologue  I used to play CS years ago but when I started working for a different organisation? well there was no time for RPG and it kind of went out of the window? I have been working from home since July because of a medical condition, and decided on playing CS once again? I have HL2 and Counter Strike installed as standard, as part of the HL2 package. Bearing in mind I have not played CS for many years and the last time I played CS you opened up the console and typed in connect 192.168.1.xx:27015 and you connected to your buddies? maMy Problembl:( :( These days, everything is run through Steam and you send an invite to your buddies to play online and then you are connected to their machine? Well in my case no. I start a game ans Shift+Tab to send an invite to my buddies online, I want them to connect to my machine and they try to connect to my machine it says ?unable to connect to server?? OK I know it is not me because I have all the ports open to allow CS to run I have configured the firewall to allow Steam through the firewall but when I connect to his machine and he tries to connect to mine it comes up with ?unable to connect to server?? Am I doi:huh:ything wrong? I have the following ports open as shown below? I do recall something about NETBIOS to allow or monitor this. I might be wronSteamNETBIOS. Steam UDP 27000 to 27015 UDP 27015 to 27030 TCP 270CODMW2DP 4380 CODMW2 UDP 1500 (outbound) UDP 3005 (outbound) UDP 3101 (outbound) UDP 28960 Oh and he is on SKY BB ADSL and I am on Virgin Media Cable Could somebody point me in the correct direction please because I cannot understand why  s not working.
Fuzed Mind
If he's hosting the game off of his computer make sure he types sv_lan 0 into the console before you try and connect. That is if you're not on lan of course.
