+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 2, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted December 2, 2009 A lighting artist for EA DICE, Oscar Carlen, has listed two "2009-present" projects on his portfolio as Battlefield 3 and Mirror's Edge 2. There's also pretty pictures and a video. Whether Mirror's Edge 2 survived the EA layoffs is yet to be seen, but we'll send a mail out and see if anyone gets back with us. Via Joystiq. Source: http://www.vg247.com/2009/12/01/rumor-ligh...mirrors-edge-2/ Hope this is true, I think it's an awesome concept to expand on and they have lots of feedback from the first one. thenut
I swear it was already mentioned a while back EA had greenlit Mirror's Edge 2 but I'm not gonna search for it. It's out there somewhere. :p Plus I bugged the DICE guys at PAX09 about it. Edit: Had to search anyway  http://kotaku.com/5288114/small-team-worki...-mirrors-edge-2 Edited December 2, 2009 by thenut
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 3, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 3, 2009 I know the article mentions it, but I thought it was already confirmed ME2 had been cancelled?
Raa
I thought ME2 was confirmed as a go-ahead?? Got a source for the cancellation? I didn't like ME1 much.
Nagisan
Mirror's Edge was ok but could have been much better (and longer). As OP said it was a great concept, one of the first of its kind (if not the first), they have tons of room to expand it and I hope they do just that with ME2. I hope ME2 is to ME1 as AC2 was to AC1. Both of the first games were sort of a concept that wasn't quite finished, fun on their own but just not all there, whereas AC2 went on to complete the concept and get to the final product (so-to-speak), hopefully ME2 can do the same.
