+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 2, 2009 Author Subscriber² Share Posted December 2, 2009 Are any of the other FF games available on the PS3?I don't mean PS2 games as there's no more BC. This is the first main branch Final Fantasy this generation. FF12 was the last and it was on the PS2... FF13 Versus is a PS3 exclusive, and apparently FF14 as well, although it will be on the PC also. Final Fantasy 7 is on PSN for PS3/PSP, and that's about it for FF this generation on home consoles...

I hate trying to pick up a story in the middle. Gonna have to pick up FF7 though...once I get my PS3 of course.

Nah every single FF is a story on it's own. It would be awful to play, and probably a terrible story if it had spanned 13 games.

Emn1ty
I should be able to stomach it if I put 700+ hours into other games.
BoredBozirini
I smell bull****. FFX was supposed to last more than 40 hours, but it lasts only 20 (25 if you go after all the ultimate weapons and aeons). FFXII was supposed to last more than 50 hours with all the hunts and side-quests, but it lasts only 30. So FFXIII is supposed to last from 50 to 60 hours, I'll bet it'll only last for 30-35. Anyway, I'll still buy it.

Valerus
This is good news. I enjoyed the crap out of FFX. And that is my only Final Fantasy experience. I hope this is just as entertaining. God...FFX was incredible.
TaiCrunch
In that case you should really try FFVII and FFIX.

God...FFX was incredible. Really? I think it was the worst of the series (of course, after FFX-2). Try FFV, FFVI or FFVII. FFX was too damn easy, short and predictable. I'm 40 hours into Dragon Age with no sign of it wrapping up any time soon (hopefully!). Lot of people saying that it's too long. I say depends on the game. As long as it keeps you entertained for it's duration then it doesn't matter how long it is unless its ridiculously short like under 5 hours or something. Hell, 50 hours sounds much more worth $60 than say... 3-5 hours. :p Just a thought... I think my old FFVII first play-through had roughly 54 hours logged, without going for all the bells and whistles. Hell, I think my game was very much incomplete too compared to the replays I did later on.
Minifig
I have 590+ Hours in Oblivion, yet, I still play it. Is 50-60 hours supposed to be .. long? How many of these hour are cut scenes?
George P Global Moderator Posted December 3, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted December 3, 2009 60hr's is the Norm I expect from most RPGs, Though some of the smaller ones are over in around 40. Star ocean 4: 65hrs Lost Odyessy : 62hrs (didn't do everything either) Blue Dragon : 57hrs The older FF's I finished around the 40hr mark. I never go for everything though since I care more for the story itself than just spending time. Haven't finished ToV yet, but I figure that'll go around 50hr's or so, maybe more. I forget how much I spent so far actually.
mr.biomech
But I thought I heard some big ruckus about Square also making FFXIII available for 360? Yes, XIII is coming out on 360 also, but the "enhanced" Versus version is for PS3 only. I have 590+ Hours in Oblivion, yet, I still play it.Is 50-60 hours supposed to be .. long? How many of these hour are cut scenes? When you have 590+ hours in Oblivion I think it's safe to say you can put atleast +50-200% addition to the playing times that (rpg) developers tell their games to be. It just that some people run and rush through the game as fast as they can (even if they don't necessarily mean to). Then the absolute game time most likely is 50-60h. Additional time comes from exploring, doing side quests, grinding and toilet breaks
