"lack of screen tearing a better gamepad and better textures feels"

hahahahha, are you actually mad or in the employment of m$?

I could give you the game controller comment, every one's different. But screen tearing? BETTER textures? Really? I've seen people play mw2, fall out and all that junk, the xbox does nothing with textures just adds speckles to dull down the effect of all the sharp edges. I see people play games on the xbox and it seems to just turn the games into a long grey, green, or brown mess. (except peggle maybe)

pfft, dont care. get a pc.

Yes, XIII is coming out on 360 also, but the "enhanced" Versus version is for PS3 only.

FF Versus XIII is not an enhanced version. It is a completely different game just in the same universe as FFXIII.

I remember Back Playing Final Fantasy VII attempting to get all the Materia it took me upwards of 200 hours at 256 the clock stopped it was funny and i did not use a guide or anything that is why it took me forever. Also Final Fantasy Tactics if you wanted to unlock everything took upwards of 200 hours as well. I loved it when games took a long time to beat they were better worth the money that way. (im not sure that last sentence makes since)

This is good news.

I enjoyed the crap out of FFX. And that is my only Final Fantasy experience. I hope this is just as entertaining.

God...FFX was incredible.

Then you should definitely pick up all of the other games. At least, FFVII!!! ;)

FF Versus XIII has a universe similar to Advent Children, not FF XIII.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is, according to its developers, a wholly independent story unfolding with different characters and a different visual design. Although it is set within the same Final Fantasy XIII universe, it is unrelated to any other entry within the compilation and is thus neither a sequel nor a prequel to any other entries in Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII.[5]

Personally, that's not a plus in my book  God I hate long drawn out single-player games.

+1.

The story may be kinda interesting, but it is rare that the gameplay holds my interest for THAT long.

P.S. please don't ask me about my /played in WoW. Thanks!

Then it has to be a different timeline. The entire tone and character design of the game is different. Why would they go to so much effort to make it look so different yet have it in the same universe when it isn't at all alike?

No It doesn't have to be the design character design or have the same tone. It is in the same universe but not in the same world. It will probably have a few things in common like the crystals thing and maybe other things?

Co-producer Shinji Hashimoto says "Consider that development is simultaneously ongoing for three FFXIII's—each not only on different platforms (advertised as PS3 for FF Versus XIII and FFXIII (as well as Xbox 360 for FFXIII in the USA, Europe and Australia only), and PSP for FF Agito XIII), but [featuring] different worlds and stories that are bound by a common mythology [of the crystal]. By gaining inspiration from the mythology, these independent FFXIIIs evolve uniquely. The Fabula Nova Crystallis project is not a collection of sequels or ports but several original titles that exist alongside each other".

So it isn't necessarily the same universe, merely different paths in with the same basis. I see. So you you could argue they are the same and not the same universe simultaneously. Leave it to Square Enix to make complicated plots.

As long as they share the same elements, in this case the crystals, which is the big theme in the 13 universe, then they're in the same one, just a different world. It's not like, you know, the universe is only one planet.

Regardless, that "enhanced" version comment, I call BS. Sure it might be cooler since it's more darker, if that's what you crave, but both games use the same engine.

I find it hard to believe that there won't be any cross-game references at all, even if they are minor ones. 3 big games; there's gotta be something in one of them.

im kinda shocked it's so long with all beefed up graphics i would think it would be shorter

Pretty much every game that has ever come out has "beefed" up gfx over it's previous versions. Gfx "beef" up every year, it doesn't mean it takes longer to make them, it's just that the processing power and tools are there to actually implement them.
