Sikh
Just got the console on monday. Everything was good through amazon as far as shipping the way it was shipped(air packed) etc. Yesterday brother told me it was scratching his PS1 games, he tried SF Alpha and some other game. I couldnt believe it so I put them in and you can hear the ps3 scratch them, but PS3 games work fine thou, no lag, no scratchs. So whats the problem here? Another problem is I keep getting a Network 11000 error code and Its a common problem, Ive opened ports for PSN and SECA Servers. Got this problem playing killzone. The game is beautiful and I love the gameplay but cant stand the fact I cant play online for more then a minute or two. Last but not least, the first controller keeps unsyncing itself. When I got the controller, I drained the battery and charged it all the way up. Since then, it works to start the system once, after that the next time you try it unsyncs. Now, I charged the controller with the system on but then later turned the system off. Is this the right procedure? Same one I use with my 360. This is my brothers console but I would love to play Killzone 2. My heart is set on that game. Also to all you sony players, GOW3 is ****ING AMAZING. OMG it looks so beautiful in 1080i, I cant wait to connect it to the familys 42 and do 1080p, i might just not leave the TV. This is the demo im talking about but I am gonna buy the game, was always a GOW fan as I had a PS2/1 last gen. But, for being pushed back, i can see why, the power of the ps3 really comes out with this game and uncharted 2, besides kz2 and infamous(which I have yet to play, sitll packed up). Anyway, hope you guys can help me! P.S. Im waiting for you audio to comment, for once i need your help
soniqstylz
Turning the switch off in the back causes the controller to unsync, not sure why. Put your PS3 in a DMZ (lots of guides online to show you how), that should help with network issues.
Sikh
Well heres the thing, its going wifi atm because I havent had time to make a ethernet cable and run it too his room, plus the port forwarding helped a lot, but i just got done with a 5 minute game of KZ2 and got kicked. I didnt finish the game even, just got kicked. "Game Host is unavailable" and boom same error. I cant put it in DMZ atm because my computer is DMZ, but im gonna try it in DMZ, if that fixes the problem im going to be ****ed because there has to be ports you can forward and not depend on dmz'ing the ps3. Its a slim so its always been turned off via controller. Once through power button because controller wasnt synced. I really hope i dont have to call sony. But thanks for your help man. Keep it coming people!
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 2, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted December 2, 2009 Dude I'm going out in 5 so I can't full reply just now, but there's some guides on what ports to open for the PS3. DMZ is what I use, I port forward on my PC, and use UPNP on the 360, but port forwarding for PS3 should work fine. It actually tells you your NAT status under connection info under settings, NAT3 is what you must be, NAT2 is what you want. By the way I've heard there's some people having syncing issues with the PS3 Slim and FW 3.10, I can't really help much there I have a fat. All I can say is there is a small reset button on the back of the DS3, you'll need a pin to push it - Usually in the past that's helped syncing issues. I think you push it then have to connect DS3 to PS3 again with USB cable.

Seems to happen more often if I use the controller to remotely switch the PS3 off, but I could be wrong. AB's "workaround" does the trick, but hopefully this can be fixed with upcoming firmware. x9248
Hmm not much help here, but I have the exact same Linksys you do. I don't use DMZ or open any ports, upnp is all I ever needed. I did drop some when I had the PS3 all the way downstairs... router upstairs. Sometimes I couldn't even log into my PSN account. This was when I first bought it tho and now it's upstairs in the same room (still wifi tho). As for the controller, I had the same problem when I got a second controller. It's weird tho, since I bought a Sony Bravia TV on Black Friday and when I use the Sync it works fine now lol ^^;
soniqstylz
Seems to be a 3.10 bug. Hasn't happened to me, but it's anecdotal 'cross the webz.
ienhz
Controller sync problem here too. Pretty much everyone I know with a Slim and 3.10 has this problem. Seems the only way I can avoid it is if I turn the PS3 on manually with the console's power button and THEN turn on the controller. Pretty stupid. 1337ish
Skih btw as far as I am aware when you turn the PS3 (soft off, not using the switch) it stops charging the controller unlike the xbox which remains in low power mode until the controller is charged. Its a really stupid annoyance I have with my PS3.
