Nicholas-c Veteran Posted December 4, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) So guys, i have another topic on the go atm lol, I have had an offer to buy a used macbook aluminium, 2.4ghz, 2gb ram (1 year old) for ?850 or i could buy a used Black macbook (Which i think looks 1000x cooler) for around ?550-?600 mark, both same speed processor and ram... Any advantage to the aluminium macbooks over a cool looking black one? Thanks Nicholas-c Edited December 4, 2009 by Nicholas-c

suspiria
That aluminum MacBook has far better build quality than the black plastic one.

cpressland2
ALU - My Old Black MacBook has an annoying problem where if you apply any pressure under the keyboard like resting your arms, it pushes down the touchpad button. Very Annoying.

what
Aluminium = better build quality, better screen, multi-touch trackpad, might have a backlit keyboard, looks better. But then you think the black one looks better so why not go for that? It's just that imo most laptops are black anyway so what's the point if you're going for looks. Nothing special about a black laptop, even if it is a Blackbook.
Shadrack
When it was the white plastic vs the black plastic MacBooks I would say the Black ones look nicer. But the Aluminum ones look way nicer than any of the plastic ones IMHO. Looks more pro!
+jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted December 28, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted December 28, 2009 The black ones look nice, but they are slower (especially in the graphics department - they use intel 64MB graphics for christ sake!). I would get an aluminium one. Better touchpad, better build quality, better battery.. better OS... .. better hardware.. .. Just more money.
