How to rename share network drives

Question

kivine    0

As per topic, when I'm accessing network drives through another pc or through a media connected device; I will be seeing network drives as C D F .... and so on. However I'd like them to be named as the same as the drives that I originally labeled them:

Example C: is named as Local Disk (C:)

I want them to appear as Local Disk (C:) or just Local Disk instead of simply C

The name C, D and F are the default name for a share. You can change them. On the host PC, right click the disk, go to properties, sharing tab and click advanced. You should be able to change it there.

\\PC1\C will become \\PC1\WhatEverYouLike

I assumed you are using Windows.
