+Mystic MVC Posted December 13, 2009 MVC Share Posted December 13, 2009 I'm much like others in that I can never just give it to one game, so I'll do my own top five, in no particular orderShadow Complex Defense Grid: The Awakening Brutal Legend Forza 3 Fallout 3 DLC I'd throw Bioshock in there as well since I just picked up a used copy recently after they released the GoD and the demo on the Live Marketplace, so I finally got to see what the hype was about 2 years ago - and boy was it totally worth it. That is so funny because I recently just started playing Bioshock again as well (in preparation for 2). Playing it with 5.1 surround sound brings more than enough joy! Really was one of the better games (and stories) we have seen in a while.

kilimanjaro
I didn't have a very good gaming year, primarily due to lack of interesting games (I play only on the PC), so I spent most of it replaying games from last year. The best game I've played this was actually The Witcher:Enhanced Edition, released last year. Excellent game, and one of the most enjoyable I've ever played. From games released in 2009, my GOTY is NFS:Shift, especially after the 1.02 patch. I've enjoyed it quite a bit after the patch was released. I did not, and do not plan to purchase/play MW2. chevyordeath
^ Aww.. The Witcher is freaking amazing game. I hope they find a good publisher for The Witcher 2. Good story, good gameplay. My most enjoyable game this year... Probably Dragon Age (PC). MW2 also pretty damn good, but shooters tend to bore me quickly. I stick to strategy, sims (military sims like Strike Fighters 2, Falcon 4, and Silent Hunter 4), and RPGs (Dragon Age, Mass Effect, The Witcher, Oblivion, Fallout 3). GreatStalin
I've only recently started playing Uncharted 2, a few hours in... but I can see it's going to be incredibly amazing! But as I've not completed it, I'm going to have to say Demon's Souls is GotY, followed by Dragon Age Origins! Both challenging and somewhat retro-games in their own ways! Still need to put some more time into DS though...

What about Metroid Prime Trilogy? :o I thought that'd be on your list. Although technically none of them were released this year..

WastedJoker
You know, I bought The Witcher when it first came out but my pc burned down and I never got a chance to play it again. I just re-downloaded it tonight and applied the various patche/Enhanced Edition and it's still amazing. I think it's gonna be a Witcher/Dragon's Age fest this weekend! soniqstylz
How long then till the definitive* GoTY VGA awards are on then?(*May not be definitive, maybe full of fluff with dull trailers we could careless about, may consist of paid off opinions from 'veteran journalists', may also include 'celebrities' looking bored out of their mind having to spend time with social outcasts and presenters who couldn't make it on to a proper TV show.)
