Mr. Gibs
As I understand it, the Neowin mobile skin is coded to not allow it to be used on a desktop browser, due to it hiding ads. I use opera mobile on my phone, and that skin just looks so much better on it lol, it doesn't stick however and everytime I click a link I have to manually select it again. is it possible to code it so that tier 2 subscribers can use it anywhere? Thanks, and sorry if this is in the wrong forum Edited December 8, 2009 by /- Razorfold
Simon Veteran Posted December 21, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 21, 2009 On the forum? Anyone can use it, go to the bottom left and select "Neowin Mobile" from the list.
Mr. Gibs
Ya but its coded so that if you try viewing it on a desktop browser, it will switch back to the default skin. Its to prevent people using that skin just to avoid viewing ads.
Jeston Veteran Posted December 21, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 21, 2009 I was wondering why I couldn't keep it on with my Droid. I just gave up, but I would love to be able to use it again like I did on my WM phone.
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted December 22, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 22, 2009 I have no problems using the mobile skin with my phone and my brother's iPod Touch. However, it does revert back if I'm using it from my desktop or laptop.
DaveLegg Developer Posted December 22, 2009 Developer Share Posted December 22, 2009 With IPB3, there is updated mobile detection built in, which should hopefully work better.
