Combining Images, text, sound, or movies to produce on finished movie

Question

Hi guys,

Been researching on the net and come up to a bit of a fork, Is there anyway of combining Images, text, sound, or movies to produce on finished movie?

I know that a third party application may have to brought in to execute the command and do the processing, I did look at virtualdub but that lost me :s is there another command line application for windows that will allow me to combine in java or command line say images together and overlay text (subtitles) and put them to some sound? or mix a video with images?

Thanks

Matt

I don't know if you can use Java's Media framework ( http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/ ) but I bet it's possible with a LOT of work.

But Windows Movie Maker is a free, easy-to-see program that will do all that: http://download.live.com/moviemaker

thanks for the reply, however I'm needing it in java as i want to put into a project as a extra little bonus. I was just wondering if it possible.

I've tried JMF and i use that to play music but not seen anything to make movies from diffrent elements.

tahnks again

anyone have anymore suggestions
