Biggest game disappointment of 2009

Borderlands, because all of the features they said would be in it, they took out. Also, because they added DRM that needed to contact the server to make sure you had a valid disc, stupid SecuROM. No wonder why people get pirated copies of games.

I am probably the only person who likes MW2.. lol. I do get annoyed from time to time by stupid ass campers and now the freaking javelin glitch. I have no dissapointing games that I bought this year. I liked every game that I have bought.

I'm sure most of us enjoyed it. But it's not the leaps and bounds that MW1 was.

Forgot to mention, that I didn't have Internet access at the time, so I wasn't able to install it at all. It was really nice that Best Buy took the game back even though it was opened and gave me store credit, so I bought Dragon Age: Origins CE and only had to pay the difference + taxes on it. So, Gearbox lost a sale because of it.

Prototype (couldn't play for more then an hour, felt like a spiderman web of shadows clone)

Brutal Legend (eh)

The Saboteur (the cheapness of the controls)

Street Fighter IV

MW2 was fun, but yeah it was short and I don't remember most of the Rangers campaign

Even though it hasn't released this yet, MAG. After playing the beta...I just wanted to slap whoever decided to release the game in this state. A huge let down.

As for full games, I don't know...MW2 really sucked, but I wasn't expecting any less honestly.

I'm pretty sure it would have said on the box that internet activation was required?

Yeah it does, and I only noticed after I brought it back, because it's written so small. But it was a stupid thing for them to do by requiring activation, and for that reason alone I do condone piracy of the game, it teaches Gearbox a lesson.

A lot of games these days require activation, espiceally Steam games (is Borderlands tied into Steam?). Its hardly unreasonable since the majority of users have internet access.

That's not true, a lot of games have DRM, but require you to have the DVD in the drive for checking, not Internet access. You can get Borderlands on Steam, however it's not tied to Steam in anyway. I didn't have Internet access when I bought it, so I didn't know you needed it until the install was almost over and it was trying to connect to the server. So, Gearbox lost my sale. I don't know if I want to buy it now that I have Internet access again.

Need for Speed: Shift

I hate that almost every racing game that comes out is trying to be "real" with the driving controls. All that is left for us is a very poor gameplay that is way far from real. What happened to old school racing gameplay?

I loved the driving of all the previous NFS, except for Pro Street which was as disappointing as Shift.

Sorry, but it's a horrible game. It looks pretty, but the physics are not arcadey or simulation, they're just BAD. That just ruins the game. Then there's the drifting...

I wouldn't trash it so much if you didn't HAVE to be good at every race mode, but you do. When they make it a complete chore to play through, it's not worth playing.

And no, I have it on the 360, so no keyboard.
