DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 11, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 11, 2009 Come on...that has to be Lair, right? :p Ah true, that's definitely in the top 10, along with a few other early PS3 games (I'm looking at you Haze).

Eddo89
I wonder the same thing. I've never played Dirt 2, but I'm loving Forza 3. It is NOT a simulator, BUT it is what NFS: Shift should have been; something in between. The controls are great in Forza 3. The only thing that really bugs me about the game is the load times. If Forza's gameplay is to the point that it is supposed to be an arcady game, then I guess their gameplay is so fail that it is a success in something completely different to their goals. That or, they really have steered their ship to a different destination.
Rohdekill
Torchlight has to be one. They say here is a Diablo 2 clone but got a game to beat in 1 hour with no online play. You beat an endless game?

bob_c_b
Tie between Killzone 2 (weak story and lots of brown) and inFamous (weak story, fake moral choices, limited replay for an open world game and lots brown). Runner up is likely GoW2.

Beastage
Borderlands PC, 45usd wasted on a game I only managed to play single player, save games gone to hell, online play is broken beyond repair, no fixing in sight and developer only seem to be working on DLCs which add malware like Securom something that pirates don't have and legitimate users will have. The online play is also unprotected by any means, there is no serial key or any anti-cheat mechanism.

nbtc971
Can't believe how many people think MW2 is a disappointment. I can't get that. They've made a game that's faster paced, much more dynamic and intense in SP with introduction of a couple of clever functionality add-ons. The MP experience is absolutely MIND-BLOWING. It's probably several times better then COD4 in every aspect. I would only say that there was some disappointment in story itself in SP as I thought it was rushed and not fleshed out or understandable enough. The gameplay on the other hand was mind blowing, especially at the beginning when you are driving in a Humvee through middle-eastern narrows streets. And spec-ops are HEAPS of fun with a friend. Especially under Charlie when you have to go through enemy territory avoiding snipers and patrols. This is a joke right? The MP experience certainly is "MIND-BLOWING" as in, it really, really blows. Maybe you are talking about consoles? The disappointed people are PC gamers. The game SUCKS on PC. Period.

undu
Without a doubt, the most dissapointing game I've tried this year has been Modern Warfare 2. The campaign mode is horridly structured: every stage seems unconnected to the next one storywise, specially at the beginning and the characters are all forgettable. Gameplaywise is exactly the same as call of duty 4, and call of duty 2, etc. In fact, every situation excpet the ridable motorbike is in cod4, which is really a shame. The multiplayer mode is actually worse than cod4 with the ridiculous killstreak rewards, turning the game into an e-peen competition instead of trying to foment gameplay. Aside of that there are the annoying chat restrictions and the useless "host rellocation". I haven't tried the coop mode, but I'm verysceptic about it. Left 4 dead 2 demo still lacks a deep motivation to advance, something that made l4d get boring really fast, if the whole game is like that it would be serious contender to mw2, but haven't tried it. Green_Eye
As most people here have already mentioned I would go with MW2. I however was fine with the SP for the most part, MP however is probably up there with the biggest gaming disappointments ever for me and has really put me off the franchise. Actually has me looking forward to BFBC2 a lot more (Y)

L4D is a multiplayer game you play with friends, its not a single player game you play to "advance" or "beat" Thats like saying you dont like cs:s because it doesn't give you motivation to advance  anyway the l4d2 demo picked the most boring/shortest 2 levels in the game and also the most boring game mode (campaign) the rest of the parish is much better and so are the other campaigns, and vs and scavenge are where its at game mode wise :) I love l4d2. ichi
RE5, probably, although I still kinda enjoyed it. It had a few too many Indy-ish levels which didn't suit RE's atmosphere at all, and also it showed that the game was planned as a coop game, which is cool but the single player experience was a bit of a letdown. Overall out of all the games I bought this year the biggest disappointment award would go to Beautifull Katamari. Come on, only a couple of coop levels? Sure I should have done some research before buying this game, but coop is Katamari's whole point for me. Who wants to roll alone, anyway?
