+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 15, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted December 15, 2009 Ah that is true, I remember those good days  Even still, it's not fair to compare that market to the market today on game development. You were the one to bring Halo into this Munky :p There's no way the Forza series has came close to 60 mil  Not even Halo has that type of budget. DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 15, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 15, 2009 But I wasn't the one to compare two completely different economies considering the utter chaos it has been the last year :p

Yes you were you said not even Halo has a budget of $60 million, what else were you comparing? Butterflies? :p Halo 3 was made in 2007, ?30 million back then was pretty much $60 million dollars, why would I use today's conversion rate on a sum of money that was spent and in the bank in 2007;)) If anything, if a game cost ?30 million to make in the past when the economy wasn't shot to hell, the same game nowadays would probably cost even more. See this is why you can't compare 2 markets like this. If in your words it was double, then... 2007 Halo 3: ?30m = $60m 2009 Halo 3: ?30m = $49m GT5 would follow the same pattern, but seeing as we don't know the number then it's not possible to even work out estimates. Either way, whenever you created GT5, it's going to cost more than the other games.
Sam
or will they do more? perhaps have as the final test for each license have it you gotta beat the Stig around the track? or perhaps something else, the mind boggles :) That would be terrible. GT is a simulator, not need for speed.
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 15, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 15, 2009 Top Gear can gtfo tbh :hmmm:

That idea would be terrible, but putting up celebrities lap times and letting you go around the top gear test track in the reasonably priced car would be cool. Sam
Hopefully its just called Dunsfold Park in the game, but it'll probably be "Top Gear Test Track" :(
