Both, I buy alot of RPG's without the option for multiplayer. But at the same time I buy RTS's mainly to play with my mates online.

As far as console goes, I only have a few games, but I play Halo 3 matchmaking most nights, but other than that, I don't play multiplayer on my console :p

SP gamer mainly, I hate it when you say that to someone and they automatically assume your crap at MP. Heres news for you, I simply dislike MP, I can more than hold my own at any MP game.

Basically multiplayer only. Single player have to be something really special for it to be worth touching and even then its 10~20 hours and thats it, game forgotten to be never played again. Lately with all the bs sandbox games theres nothing really interesting in that field, its like your just put in some huge world and said to do whatever you want but the world is filled with mannequins. Last few sp games that i actually enjoyed was both modern warfare campaigns, mass effect, portal and hl episodes. Playing with/against pc is really numbing and boring in general for me and leaves this empty feeling.

When I buy a game I usually buy it for the singleplayer, not huge fan of multiplayer. However, I do consider it [multiplayer] sometimes as I do enjoy a friendly game of multiplayer with friends and I admit some games are better with friends then on your own (Serious Sam comes to mind!).

most people play only singleplayer?

Multiplayer is what makes the game fun and enjoyable. Not constantly doing the same missions over and over again.

Unless it's Coop I'm more the Singleplayer guy, although there are some games like Battlefield, CS:S etc. where I got it solely for Multiplayer.

For the record, me and my friends avoid MP-only games like TF2, Counter Strike etc. Purely because they're lacking a Single Player option.

Anybody else?

Also, we usually have private servers and friend-only matches. Nor me or my friends have had good experiences going it alone into a random server.

I only play a game once...maybe twice anyway. Hell a bunch I don't finish. So yes, I prefer single player although there are a very select few games i will play online.

Which is why I just play TF2 on the PC :)

Exactly what I do as well. Gotta love that game. I play a few other games as well, but TF2 is really the only one I've continued to play a lot.

Personally, I play games for multiplayer... it's just much more fun playing with the satisfaction that there's a real person behind each and every scout your sentry blows up. :p

I agree. I used to play competitively in RtCW and ET in the TWL and CAL ladders. But since I don't anymore, and pretty well stick to SP, most people assume I don't play MP because I suck at it.

I enjoyed playing that at the time and had tons of fun with my friends, but I don't know if it burned me out or what, but I just find that I don't play MP near as often anymore. I'll jump on if a friend invites me to a game, but I'd much rather play a split-screen or co-op with friends.
