HilariousNinja
PS3 having FF13 with exclusivity in Japan will significantly impact sales. Although I'm sure Heavy Rain, GOW 3, Modnation Racers, GT 5 and The Last Guardian can do the business for the PS3. You forgot LA Noire, although it's about as likely to be released next year as Fable III. And you forgot FF Versus 13 and the gorgeous 3D Dot Games Heroes  Edited December 12, 2009 by RPatel
philcruicks
GT5 and Reach i think are going to be the make or break for each console next year, IF and i stress if GT5 is released it will probably mean PS3 will win, however looking at GT's history who knows if it will get released. If Reach is as good as the hype (which i hope to god it will be) then 360 will probably win.
MightyJordan
GT5 and Reach i think are going to be the make or break for each console next year, GT5, yes. Halo Reach, god no. The fan interest in Halo 3 ODST was average at best. Mass Effect 2 would be a better bet.

Mass Effect 2 would be a better bet. Halo Reach will torch ME2, remember it's coming on PC as well at the same time this time I think. ODST was an expansion pack and everyone knows it, even the most hardened Halo nuts. MS charging $60 for it probably didn't go down to well, and putting "3" in the title easily leads exceptions to not the next Halo, but an expansion/Halo 3.5. Plus a Halo with Master Chief is going to sell much better  Although is he going to be in Reach or not? As long as they don't deviate to any ****ty RTS games again between now and Reach it'll do really well. Not that I care, I'm bloody sick of FPS games, but what I say above is true. Only FPS title I really want is Bioshock 2, just to see if the story can live up to the first.
undu
Everybody is missing All Points Bulletin, Serious Sam HD, Fez and capsized, which all look great to me. (I'm sure some will consider bayonetta an exclusive title too), metal slug 7 and ninety-nine nights 2 are also coming in 2010, apparently for the 360, but I'm not sure they'll be any good :/ In fact from the list posted above I'm only really interested in playing the last guardian and mass effect 2. KoL Veteran Posted December 12, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 12, 2009 Easily PS3 for me, 2010 will be my favourite yearAre going to destroy everything else. Agent won't be 2010, but we'll see it, same with TM3. I'm doubtful of Last Guardian as well, but it might sneak in a Q3 Japan, Q4 EU/US. Probably the game I'm looking forward to most, but I just don't know enough about it yet. Not one of the games I've bolded is an FPS and I love that  Damn you are right. None of the games are FPS. :D

Even if people won't be playing the games they feel the need to tout a system because it is human nature to look for "the superior" in everything. Maybe you should take the same sentiment as I do and just don't care. If I did care, I would have purchased the other system a while ago but I haven't because I enjoy similar AAA titles. bob_c_b
These games are not going to sell in significant quantities... Heavy Rain The Last Guardian MAG White Knight Chronicles Modnation Racers Agent The Agency I'll probably play all of them, but none of them will be major hits and I'll bet Heavy Rain outright flops. The Last Guardian will flop as well, but that will be a shame as it deserves better treatment (based on the devs past performance). If Sony could not sell the well reviewed and well received games like Killzone 2 and inFamous, these niche titles have little hope. I am very intrigued if they can pull off what they have promised with The Agency, I hope so because I love the idea. And the PS3 having FF XIII exclusivity in Japan won't change anything since the 360 is on life support over there anyway. Silly notion that this matters. I'm also questioning how big of a hit Alan Wake will be, but with the North American installed base for the 360 what it is, it will likely do well enough to be considered profitable. No, Heavy Rain will definitely sell well. The reason Killzone 2 and inFAMOUS didn't sell well is simply because they weren't good games.

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 12, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted December 12, 2009 No, Heavy Rain will definitely sell well. The reason Killzone 2 and inFAMOUS didn't sell well is simply because they weren't good games. Heavy Rain is an adult adventure game, it will not sell gangbusters. Depending on the marketing though if it's seen as something different people might go out and take a gamble/media will be talking about it. Projects like these wouldn't go ahead unless it's feasible for developers to make profit - I'm pretty sure they'll have fairly easy sales targets to meet to break even and generate profit. If such targets weren't do-able you wouldn't of seen Shadow of the Colossus coming off of ICO, and now The Last Guardian. ICO only manage something like 800k, SOTC broke 1 million. That'll be profit on both those titles, if it wasn't why would another game in the same line be green lighted? They're all 1st party titles, have their marketing done by Sony, have Sony developers working with them, have access to tools 3rd party devs don't, etc. Overheads won't be as high. Also, KZ2 and inFAMOUS received good critical praise, it's one tangible thing you can try to attribute consumer sales towards - If they review well you expect sales to reflect that. Of course every developer wants to see Halo/GT/MW sales, but every title can't do that and believe it or not they'll be developers out their wanting to create the games they want to, not just the next game everyone and their dog will eat up (usually FPS). And from the looks of it neither is Heavy Rain, developer interviews so they aren't even sure what it is. I suspect this is going to be way too much cut scene and not enough play, but I'd love to be wrong. And if only really good games sell well please explain HALO ODST? MightyJordan
And if only really good games sell well please explain HALO ODST? It's not just really good games that sell well. Look at GTAIV. And Halo 3 ODST isn't a bad game. Provided you can get it cheap, it's a good deal.

Eh.. Killzone 2 and InFamous did ok. Well over a million. And they were two good games. They aren't bad just because you didn't like them. Both got very good scores. I got both consoles. I choose what ever I like from them. This console fanboyism is just silly.
