PyX
Woah, one of my best bands getting a Rock Band game? I won't believe it until I see it! More like a huge DLC on the way (well there's already a Green Day Pack 02 due for this week). I'd much prefer a Rock Band 3 with a story mode (evolved career mode), a karaoke mode like GH5, better graphics, better instruments, etc. etc. Edit : oh wait... it IS true. I heard the rumour this week, but now it's been confirmed in Harmonix's forums. I'll buy it when it's out and when I have the money :)
Spookie
Why green day? Kids own consoles and kids like Green Day. I'm sure it'll net em a whole tonne of money but by christ will it be ****. :D As DM said, this series is dead to me. I'd go so far as to say I'm over the genre. hotdog666al
I can see why they're doing it and it's a good idea from a money making perspective. Doesn't affect me, as won't be buying a copy!! They should do "Prog Band", get some Yes/King Crimson/Gentle Giant on there, they wouldn't sell as much but daym it would be good ;)

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 13, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 13, 2009 He's just hating on it to try and wind up the fans, he's never played it so such hate is unfounded ;) Aw, was it that obvious? :( No but srs, it's not GOTY for me. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 13, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted December 13, 2009 Aw, was it that obvious? :( No but srs, it's not GOTY for me. Well you've not played it so it would be physically impossible for it to be anyway  That would be like giving an album you've never listened to your "album of the year award"
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 13, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 13, 2009 You mean they don't do that? :o I swear I remember hearing something about reviewers being paid off for all kinds of media....heh, must not be true :p

Knife Party
Green Day's days are over, they sold out and went mainstream with all that 'punk rock' (pop culture cr*p nonsense) (N)
PL_ Veteran Posted December 13, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 13, 2009 Kids own consoles and kids like Green Day. Fail logic. We wouldn't have The Beatles Rock Band if this were true. Though there's not much else reason...seems weird securing the rights and making a game on one of the most influential bands in history...and then Green Day. I don't have anything against them, it's just not really a huge band IMO. Not on par with Beatles at least. From the trailer it doesn't look like they put much effort into it visually. Will be a shame if we don't get a Rock Band 3 because of this game.
MR_Candyman
Will be a shame if we don't get a Rock Band 3 because of this game. Umm...what? Rock Band 3 will happen, whether or not Rock Band: Green Day flops. I don't understand how anybody could think we wouldn't get it because of this game. DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 14, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 14, 2009 Because the fan base is dying off, not just because it's Green Day. Interest in music games on the whole is declining.
Smigit
Kids own consoles and kids like Green Day.*shrug* I like them and their show just last week was great, very energetic. Pretty sure a band that has been around for twenty years will have an older following too.And yes, their music has changed but you'd expect that over the course of 20 years. My fav artist is Nine Inch Nails and i dare say every one of their albums is very different to the ones before it.
PyX
Kids own consoles and kids like Green Day. Lol... I know no kid who likes Green Day. In fact, I know no kid who really listens to music a lot, let alone punk music. But a kid for me is < 10 years old. Maybe for you it's < 18 years old... I'm 21 and proud to say I love them since I'm about 15-16, but I listen to it a lot more today than before.
+jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted December 14, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted December 14, 2009 Green Day 'sold out' in 1994, so people complaining about them going mainstream should be long gone by now. I think Green Day are a fun pop/rock band with a nice selection of radio-friendly songs, and a couple that aren't so radio-friendly. They're probably one of the few bands which I don't necessarily love where I can listen to an entire album without thinking '.. This is getting annoying'.
