Another Dead Xbox.

Recommended Posts

Well, My xbox 360 just died.. it was manufactured in 2008-02-28 and it had the 3 red ring of death. Sigh, It sucks now that I have to wait for the refurbished console to come on in. oh well, thank god for the 3 year extended warranty :)

They said that a refurbished xbox will be sent to me, now, This console that I'm sending in has HDMI, will the one they send me also have HDMI, and, maybe, will the refurbished one have the built in memory as well (the 256Mb one)?

Thanks guys

My first one died the week before Xmas 2007 and was just outside it's warranty period. It's replacement died last week and is currently on it's way to Microsoft for repair even though it's also now out of warranty.

Two failures, both days before Christmas - when several games and accessories had been bought as presents. If I were a cynical person I'd be dreaming up all sorts of conspiracy theories.

I don't know about built-in memory, but yes, your replacement will have HDMI.

It's a Pro, So I Probably think that It will not come with the built in memory, cause of the fact that I think that was included in the Arcades... Am I correct?

Because they are the same SKU (minus the HDD) then you might be lucky enough to get one. I don't really know how their repair centres work, but I don't see them splitting the consoles up into too many groups when they are all the same really.

The Jasper has 512MB Built-in memory, up from the standard 16 - According to Wikipedia. The 256MB is just an included memory?

256 was first introduced with the NXE, but because it eats up some of that space for the avatar editor (might be used for more than that), they eventually bumped it upto 512 for XBLA etc.

Before the NXE, Arcades came with a physical 256 MU though. I don't think any of those will be still lying around these days however.
