MR_Candyman
I've owned every gen of playstation and have had 0 problems. The only problem I've seen a friend encounter was breaking the connector to go to the tv on the back of the console on the ps2
Tech Star
My guess is we'll see another redesign in a few years once blu-ray drives shrink some more, especially if they make another top loader. Exactly. Also, when the the motherboard and other parts start getting smaller. Yesterday, Samsung released more details on a smaller laptop HD (Seagate's Momentus Thin to ship in 160GB / 250GB sizes this January), which means even smaller parts. :D In a couple years we will see another redesign. Definitely not the same size as the PS2 Slim this generation, but maybe around 3/4th of the size of the PS2 Phat. As for an external PSU, that will be done in the next Slim revision. I also don't think that it will be as big as the X360's though. :/ That thing is a monster. :shifty:

How exactly would you make a blu-ray drive smaller than a slimline one ?a top loader would by necessity be bigger just because of the mechanics. Because the Blu Ray drive in the PS3 Slim isn't really much smaller than the one in the fat, it's everything else that's shrunk considerably. Top right, it's still large. 40GB Fat vs Slim Motherboard the 60GB motherboard (original PS3), was even bigger.

Sikh
The 60gb was fatter because of the PS2 chips and the engine. Dont even compare that to any ps3 unless it also does native bc. Other then that oh wow sony made stuff small after 3 years, really? Big news seeing how technology gets smaller every year. The 360 might not be small but the chips are getting smaller. So there. I really dont care if they change the size of the 360, seeing how the ps3 and 360 are the same size with the ps3 being an inch smaller at most. And for proof, i put my brothers slim on top of my xbox and didnt notice a BIG difference unlike the fat ps3 and 360. Regardless the system does what people want it too. .Ark
I kinda like the fat ps3 haha.. I feel like it has a more "classier" finish than the slim. The slim model (imo) is dull and boring.
