Xbox 360 Most Sought-After UK Christmas Console

The Xbox 360 is the most sought-after Christmas console in the UK, research has indicated.

The research, conducted by Experian Hitwise, reveals that the Xbox 360 sits in third place in terms of which products were searched for the most on consumer electronics websites, with the other two consoles directly below it.

The Xbox 360 accounted for 1.24% of the total searches, with the Wii at 1.18%, and the PlayStation 3 at 0.97%.

Topping the charts were Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch, with the iPhone ahead of everything else by a comparitively huge majority.

Whether or not this has anything to do with Modern Warfare 2 - which is directly behind the PS3 in terms of these searches - is unclear, but it wouldn't surprise us. It is possible, however, that the slightly cheaper average price of the Xbox 360 could be part of the reason, as the research notes that searches "peaked during the week ending December 5th - a week closer to Christmas than compared to the last couple of years," adding that "British consumers are clearly holding out more for bargains this year and have been prepared to order online later."

Check below for the full list of products and their share of searches.

2. Apple iPod Touch - 1.29%

That's crazy to see the iPhone being so high still, and to see MW2 is funny also. Even though its been out for over a month it's still going to be a HUGE seller this Christmas
