The Teej
Okay, I get the usual way of using a USB hard drive to back up the data, and transferring that to the new hard drive in the PS3, but is it possible to transfer the data by taking the current PS3 HDD and putting it in an external enclosure, and just using the restore function on the PS3 to transfer the data to the new hard drive from the old PS3 HDD in the enclosure, or would this not work? Livin in a box
If you have 2 PS3's and a LAN cable to connect them then you can use the PS3 transfer utility in the 3.15 firmware.
Belazor
Or proxy it via a 3rd external USB HDD.
The Teej
I know of these two options (thanks though), but I'm wondering about this specific scenario. Basically I work in Maplin and a customer asked me if this was possible, and wasn't entirely sure. So... I'm asking you guys here if this is possible, as I'm pretty curious about this myself. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 18, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted December 18, 2009 Don't think that will work, the PS3s hard drive is very locked down, I believe it always has to be attached to the PS3 to do anything.
