Ahh This Is Annoying... Ps3 Issue

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else had this problem, playing CoD MW2 (well it happens with other games I've tried too, I just like to play CoD) a start an online game (assuming the same happens offline too) plays through fine, then at the end of the match the scoreboard comes up as normal, then it just freezes and the PS3 wont turn off (have to use the back switch)

The same happened in Fifa 10 after scoring a goal.

I updated the firmware to 3.15 today (I know it didn't have any fixes for games but the previous firmware might have corrupt during install) which didn't help at all, I also tried deleting the MW2 game data, which also done nothing...

Any ideas if this is a hardware issue? Or if not (I f***ing hope not) a way to fix it? Or even if it is a firmware issue that might get fixed soon :(? lol.

I've not tried playing any DVDs on it yet.

This seems to be an isolated issue on you, so...I dunno, don't use it for a while then try again, and maybe try other games?

I had this issue a few times when the game first came out however the issue was caused by the host of the game dropping.

Apparently it was happening to a friend of mine, probably not as bad because he managed to have a good while playing it :p it was fine before which is the really annoying thing, and since it's barely left my PlayStation since I got it, there is no scratches at all on it. I'm going to try maybe World At War, which has never had any problems soon enough :p

Try deleting the MW2 data files (not save files) and re-install the game and any patch/dlc.

That's what I meant, I'd never delete my saves lol. Can't be bothered with the hassle starting again :(

I suppose it could be ridiculously bad luck that that's happening now. :iiam:

But then it happens with Fifa (well it only happened once)

I'm wondering that it could maybe some sever dust, and overheating at points? Any ways to clean the inside?

I actually think I know what the problem is (even though there hasn't been a reply in a while) I think the BluRay lens is either dirty/dusty or just broke. Just in case anyone else has this same issue.

DVDs etc. work just not games (well I assume all Bluray disks)

Guess I'd have to send it to Sony :( It's out of warranty as well :|
