notuptome2004
the Cry engine 3 is far more optimized then the Cry 2 is as it was made to scale as others have siad so i think the PC version will run more forgiving then Crysis 1 on the cry 2 engine
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted December 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 19, 2009 Will 5970x2 be able to run it well :p BTW i think this time it wont be that specs-sucking game, as it is for consoles too , the graphics may not be that gr8. BTW will it be a dx11 game? CryENGINE? 3 is the first Xbox 360?, PlayStation? 3, MMO, DX9 and DX10 all-in-one game development solution that is next-gen ready ? with scalable computation and graphics technologies. http://www.crytek.com/technology/cryengine-3/specifications/ It doesn't say anything about DX11. However, I remember reading an article that said Crytek has plans to add DX11 support.

c3ntury
I hope it runs decently well on current-gen hardware, this time around. Half the hype Crysis got was because it had impossible graphics and only the "l33t" system could dare enter the "high" settings mode haha.
Smigit
I hope it runs decently well on current-gen hardware, this time around. It'd be nice if the specs didnt go up much at all or even remained the same. I really don't think graphically they need to do a huge amount extra, the engine still beats most other ones out there. I'd like to see them ship something that runs on far more machines than the original did at launch. In all honesty I think Valve has the right idea. None of their games have looked spectacular at launch in a long time (even HL2 had hot competition from competitiors who did certain things well) but all have been playable on machines running what many would consider ancient hardware at the time of the launch. They really do a good job at keeping everything scalable and ultimatly people still enjoy the games despite them not technically being the top of the pile. Its that which will give confidence for developers and gamers to stick with PC gaming...not the titles that blow all the consoles out of the water but only can be played at those settings by 5 or 10% of the population while the rest waste time tweaking to get that extra few fps that will hopefully render the game more smooth or playable.
