Fox News GOTY 2009

Recommended Posts

Well I posted it because it's actually a decent list of choices they put forward. Did you actually watch it Massiveterra or just take a dig at Fox News? (Which I do admit suck, but the games are what matter here).

Honestly i think you should have to pass a test or something to count as a credible news source if that was the case then i do not think that FOX would ever make it in the news world.

Best Action Game - Assassins Creed 2

Best Platformer - New Super Mario Bros

Best Racer - Need For Speed Shift

Best Fighter - Street Fighter IV

Best Music Game - The Beatles Rock Band

Best Sports Game - Wii Sports Resort

Best RPG -Dragon's Age Origins

Best Shooter - Modern Warfare 2

Most Creative - Brutal Legend

GOTY - Uncharted 2

Seems like a pretty standard "safe" list to me. What I mean by safe is no surprises.

Wow, the ad before that video was one for pajama grams, and it specifically stated that it's to get your girlfriend or wife to get her clothes off. How ironic for such a conservative news station.

What the hell, that almost looks like the VGAs, with a few things changed, well we now know where FOX got its 'list'.

Fox News? LOL

In the US, fox news barely passes as news.

fox news is the worst news channel that ever existed lol
Truths.

I wasn't under the impression the thread was about the quality of Fox News. Maybe I misinterpreted..? If people want to discuss Fox News I'm sure there is a thread or two in RWI about it.

On topic: I would mostly agree with the list, though I would choose Borderlands over MW2 for various reasons. Not the least of which is Borderlands didn't cost $60 and lasted me more than 6 hours.

Remember, this is still Fox, the people that brought you "The Littlest Groom" (aka, "Who Wants to Marry a Midget"), along with (searching Fox Reality) "Battle Of The Bods, is a steamy reality show in which five sexy girls rank themselves in order of attractiveness and try to match the rankings of a panel of male judges", "My Bare Lady, gives adult film stars the opportunity to try out different careers", and "Seducing Cindy, follows Cindy Margolis, once the most downloaded woman on the Internet, as she searches for a new love".

Hey all, Ken here... Writer/producer of FOX News Gamers Weekly for the FOX News Channel. I just wanted to thank you guys for checking out the show. Please continue to watch at foxnews.com/gamersweekly or search "FOX News Gamers Weekly" in the podcast section of iTunes. Also, Cy-Kill... For the record, I didn't watch the VGA's on Spike at all. It was a surprise to me that we agreed on a few of the categories (with a few notable exceptions, of course). Plus, sonicstylz - Remember that FOX has also brought you Star Wars, Avatar, The Simpsons, and yes, even other gaming websites like IGN. But here at Gamers Weekly, we give you guys honest videogame journalism, with as much brevity as we can muster. No hype, no annoying hosts... For us, it's all about the games. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed it, and happy holidays!

Your username makes me question if this is a true response that someone typed out, or a bot made by Fox...

FOX News is not 20th Century Fox, so no, FOX News did not bring us "Star Wars" or "Avatar". Also, we are supposed to believe a 1-post-wonder that you work for FOX News, nice try, NOT! IGN was around far before News Corp got their dirty little paws into it.

Guys, it was late... I was asleep. Not a "one-post wonder." I'm on the Pacific coast. Secondly, I'm a film geek... so "Persona" is for the Ingmar Bergman movie (or you could also take it as the Japanese RPG series), and "1138" is for George Lucas' first feature, "THX 1138". Thirdly, just look at the "Best Of 2009" video again. During multiplayer in CoD: Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2, when a kill is made in multiplayer, whose screename appears? (I know it's small type, especially online, but it's there.) It's "persona1138." Not a bot, believe me... Just visit foxnews.com/gamersweekly, look at ANY of our longer reviews, and you'll see my screename plastered all over the online multiplayer.

Anyway, I was just saying hi... Didn't expect to be so eviscerated by a bunch of skeptics.

And Cy-Kill... You're right, yes. But the advertising dollars are all going to the same place.

Anyway, please feel free to do a check, if there are any moderators. I just came here to say thanks.

Neowin, mauling the newcomers one by one since 2000 >.>

Haha, thanks for the support, Sethos. I was happy to see that someone posted a link to our video, and it's nice to chat one-on-one with viewers. Anyway, no offense taken. The anonymity of the internet can cause people to become skeptical and overly harsh.
