This is a ITunes Alternative that I started working on it in 2006 on my free time and has now reach the final stage for public consumption. smile.gif

I have create a Free Version and Pay Version. The Free version has all you need to manger your IPod/IPhone and the Pay ones has added functionality for CD-Ripping, Video Encoding and Lyric's Manager.

I know is Christmas and is time to share; so for the first 20 users that download GT-iMedia I will give them a free Full version. Just when the Software ask to register enter your First Name and as Family name Neowin so that I can identified you.

PLEASE make sure you enter you real or nickname in the First Name field and Neowin in the Family Field as I have problem to differential how is how. If you don't like to enter during registration your Street, City,state,Zip and Phone number then left the fields blank but don not enter garbage as this give me additional maintenance work that is no needed.

Thanks for your cooperation.

************** JIT Debugging **************

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

application or computer (machine.config) must have the

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

The application must also be compiled with debugging

enabled.

For example:

<configuration>

<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

rather than be handled by this dialog box.

It does let me continue after though. Am trying it now ( as a local player)

Thanks for downloading it and give it a try.

For all that have problem running it here; do you have the Framework 2 install and updated?, are you running it as Admin, do you have a iPod/iPhone connected? if not it will take bit longer to load as it is switching to local mode.

It has been tested on XP, Vista and windows 7, 32 and 64bit and we could not find any issues.

If you still can get it to work you can get me on MSN gygatech@live.com and I will try to get it sort out with you.

Cheers

Hi Gyga

Am using it now. I notice that you cannot sort things by clicking on the column headers (as you can in windows). Not a big mdal, but may be something people want.

And just to add, I use XP (32bit) fully updated, and I dont own an ipod or anything like it. So am using it as a local media player.

Smeg Head,

I will have to investigate the issue as sorting is working fine ans hope to have it fix next release in January.

Encase you don't know you can send feedback and report error from GT-iMedia by going into Help and click on "Send Feedback'.

Thanks for the feedback.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Sector Foxtrot,

If you referring to Cydia apps then I have good news, I'm working at the moment whit Saurik on implementing the Cydia Store into GT-iMedia plus adding a App Manager that will let you download Apps from any repositories and automatically install then into your device. It also keep track of what is install in your device and you can uninstall and install back again at any time as it will keep a copy on your computer.

But this are things that will come in Feb/March 2010.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I wasn't asked to register, how do I register it? Gotta say I am impressed though, a hell of a lot faster than iTunes, and a pretty nice UI as well

Edit: It appears this app is becoming unresponsive whenever I try to expand one of my local drives

Edited by Frank Fontaine
Resolved that issue, but now I am having trouble getting it to display any of my media in local mode

There should not be any problem on playing any local files whoever if the files are DRM protected then we have a problem with it as GT-iMedia don't support DRM.

If you still having problems and you don't mind to MSN "gygatech@live.com.au" then I would glad to work this problem with you.

If it has not ask you to register you can still do it from Help Menu.

Hi GygaMan,

I suppose I'll have to ask you for a download link, either that or I'm blind and didn't see/read the thread properly.

Anyhow, I am interested in trying this out. Looks like a great music app.

Thanks,

-KJ

The link is below the image "Download GT-iMedia" but here just click this HERE.

  • 1 month later...

btw, how long till I get the Full Version; I never got a Registration Pop up either. :/

EDIT: I'm not able to play ALMOST ANY of my music, let alone to get the program to show my Music at all. It looks nice, but it's auto-full screen size when I boot it up.

I just send you a message and hope to get this sorted out for you. about the full screen; this will change in the next release.

Cheers
