Smashing Pumpkin
Hi there, I don't usually post in pc gaming but here goes. I have a Dell Vostro 1520, with Windows 7 Home, Core 2 Duo T6670 2.20 GHz with 3 GB of Ram. Graphics card is just a NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS. As you can maybe tell I don't know what spec I need to playing what games, but I just figured I could buy some older games. For instance I bought Red faction 1, Deus Ex and Postal 2 as I have heard they are great pc games and I know that they will run on my laptop. Without upgrading (not something which interests me at all) what sort of generation games can I play on this laptop and does anyone have any other recommendations? Thanks Richard. p.s. I'm not interested in Half Life or Sims or any RTS games.
GreatStalin
Apologies that this is not a specific recommendation, but there are just too many older games to miss out! Check GoG.com for a huge amount of amazingly cheap old games that are 'tweaked' to function on the latest Windows versions. Fallout 1 & 2, Settlers 2, Gothic 1 & 2 and Commandos are a few old classics that can be gotten there. I'm not sure how old you want to go though... you can't go wrong with most games by Bullfrog, for example. Dungeon Keeper 1/2, Populous The Beginning, Syndicate Wars! All superb. Smashing Pumpkin
Thanks for the quick reply, will be sure to check out that site. I'd quite like them to be pretty modern, just I know that I can't play the latest and greatest obviously. So for instance could I run GTA San Andreas, stuff around that level? EDIT: Are you sure you meant cog.com?

Treemonkeys
If you like RPGs I would get Morrowind, one of the best RPGs of all time IMO and will run flawlessly on your laptop. Another good one is Neverwinter Nights with all of the add ons you can download along side the main story of the game. Honestly though I think you would be surprised at how many newer games would run perfectly fine with that video card.

Treemonkeys
Cheers, I really enjoyed Oblivion, so i suppose Morrowind is a logical choice. Well in that case you might really love it, just give it some time for you to get past the graphics - though there are some higher resolution texture mods you can get if you want to go to that trouble. I enjoyed Oblivion but it didn't live up to how good Morrowind was for me, I wish I could have Morrowind with Oblivion's graphics.
