Xbox Live Games On Demand Question

Recommended Posts

I have a simple question I think... I checked the Xbox live homepage but couldn't find any support on this. I am thinking about getting the original Halo from Xbox Live since it is cheaper than ordering online and paying for shipping, and GameStop has started to really scale down sale of original Xbox games. Anyways say I choose to buy Halo on Xbox Live for ~$12. If my hard drive crashes for some reason or another. Will I be able re-download the game for free? I think I could, but I don't know. I remember I purchased an album on iTunes once and my computer crashed and I had to pay if I wanted to redownload. SO ever since then, I've been cautious.

I reckon you'd be able to transfer the licenses for all your DLC, I think you can do it once a year or something, or is that across consoles. I can't remember. There'd be something you could do though I'm sure. probably redownload it on a new HDD but you'll need to be signed into live to play it, not sure.

However, I would't go the on demand route anyway, surely you can get it second hand off of ebay? Think of the resale value as well. Don't forget, Halo 1 is on PC too, I've just obtained Halo:CE in preparation for Reach :pirate:

I checked E-Bay, by the time bidding is done it comes out to around 10 dollars or so. At least the majority of them do. And most Ebay sales have 3-4 dollars for shipping, so that's 13 or 14 dollars for a game that has a chance of being faulty.

ebay Item Number:

There, it's a buy it now, it's cheap, the discs been checked it works, it comes with the box, instructions, the dude has great feedback and it's $12 including postage.

Once you've finished it you could resell it near to when Reach launches and probably even make a profit, esp. if you put it at auction.

Oh thanks man... I guess I didn't look hard enough. I guess I should probably just order that one.

You can just as easily redownload any dlc in the event your system goes down. DLC is tied to your gamertag and console. So if your console goes out you can easily redownload the stuff again. If you dont want to always be connected to Live after you redownload the DLC you will have to transfer the license to the newer console.
