Omar Hussain
Hey guys, Basically once upon a time I remember when we bought our first IBM computer with its 34mb of RAM etc etc, and we had the original prince of persia that used to run off dos mode. I really want to play that game again. Anyone know how that it would be possible? Some sort of emulator I'm guessing? If I remember correctly the game had a floppy disc which it ran off, but I dont have a computer with a floppy drive at home anymore. If anyone knows, you would make me a very happy man! thanks. +jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted December 22, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted December 22, 2009 If you have an Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3, the game is available for download on Xbox Live or the PSN. Granted with a graphical upgrade.

Shadrack
I remember the SNES v. of Prince of Persia was a pretty good port. I think that is your best bet if you don't have an xbox 360 or ps3 lying around. I would vote for that route since the SNES emulation scene is larger than the old DOS game scene. Well he could search for the game and abandonware, there are several large abandonware sites offering old out of license games for download. SyntaxError
Since it's a dos game, use DosBox.
Omar Hussain
I do have a PS3, so that would be an option. I used to play the game with my sister when I was little, so she would want a copy as well, so I think the PC would be the best method? Thanks for the replies. How would I go about getting the game on the PC / PS3, and what is DosBox?
MS Bob 11
Run the original on DOSBox, the best full blown DOS emulator. Prince 1's cheat code is megahit and Prince 2's yippeeyahoo.

Jen Smith
I actually have the original POP and sequel installed via DOSBox; it runs absurdly well. Looks better than the original too as it scales the graphics nicely vs pixels as big as my thumb. Abandonia for sure has both of them.

ilev
You can run the game under GeekDOS (supports : Mac, Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008, Unix, Windows 7/2000/2003/2008/9x/Home Server/Vista/XP GeekDOS is a free FreeDOS based OS that boots from CDs and DVDs, USB drives, Hard disks, and a minimalistic version from floppy via an included script. It includes an installer that installs GeekDOS to the first recoginized supported filesystem. GeekDOS will start to a fully usable environment whether or not installed, with little if any difference when installed. It includes many small open source or abandonware utilities and games, as well as the built-in now open source DOS Navigator GUI. I hope you find GeekDOS useful, Ben Dibell. http://geekdos.weebly.com/
