WastedJoker
....I have been trying to play it for a while but a technical issue with SLI bridge then the release of Dragon Age: Origins distracted me. Played for about an hour just now and I can see why people love it. I think what makes me love it most is when your guy raises his gun vertically to avoid an obstacle close to you - that's such a small neat touch  Anyway, it's the first FPS game I've played on a Pc for AGES and I've gotten pretty used to gamepads. Is this game equally playable with a gamepad? I know this might be sacrilege for hardcore PC gamers but gamepads feel so much more natural :p

a1ien
Crysis is a dammned refined FPS system, try Crysis Wars online. The best server is !BROS Yeah its the only online game I play regularly. I have an xbox 360 controller and a wireless USB thingy... but the gamepad didn't work for me at all.
Sikh
I just bought the maximum edition again after building my new build and as I have played it before for a total amount of 2 hours, I LOVE IT. I really think this is a very refined FPS game for PC like someone stated up above. What I also like is little kids/epeen noobs cant play this game. It actually REQUIRES some kind of a tactic seeing how if Im getting shot I do max armor, and then when they stop shooting i do max speed, run up, and max strength and either jump over them and shoot them or melee them. Whats your Gamespy Tag if you made one? If not whats your steam? Ill be glad to join you for some crysis fun. How much did you get it for? Im thinking about buying it on steam as I bought retail copies and i can hand those to my brother anytime. Also, Crysis and GAMEPADS dont mix. Thats why I cringe to think of crysis 2, beind made on consoles 2. Hopefully the PC version is still a benchmarker

Phantom Helix
Crysis 2 is being called as big of a game changer when compared to crysis 1 as crysis 1 was to all other previous games, mostly because the engine is optimized to actually work on normal systems now
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted December 22, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 22, 2009 It's a fun game and the graphics are awesome. In fact, it's still the best even to this day. Graphically speaking, of course.
deletedxyz
Crysis is a great game but it's not that forgiving of a game Far Cry was not as forgiving either. It drove me up the wall because of how hard it was at the beginning.

Smigit
In all honesty Crysis disappointed me.... I thought Far Cry was the far better game (original, not sequal). Crysis felt too much on wheels to my liking and I think it went a bit down hill in some of the final levels too. Back in it's time I considered it to be fairly poorly optimised or designed too. I could play the game fine and then as soon as the Snow Levels came up everything went to crap. I can understand a game being demanding but IMHO theres no excuse for it to run at a consistent 25 - 35fps for the entire game and then to drop to like 10fps for a single slow level. It's a case where the devs should have stepped back and toned down the effects in use to ensure the game had a consistent performance, even if that means it's consistency pulling average fps. You just had to restart the game in the snow levels, it was a known bug - Happens to every game. ( Bugs, that is ) I thought Crysis was brilliant, a surprisingly fun shooter that looked drop dead gorgeous and gave you this tiny sense of a superhero game with that suit. I loved the game. TogaForComfort
I too am so used to playing with a Gamepad I suck with KB and mouse, I played al the way through with a 360 Gamepad with no issues. As you said, the little touches in the game are great. I whish other devs would put thing like this in.
bigblitz2006
I just bought the Maximum Edition about a month ago. This was after I finished my new build so I could run it. AND I LOVED IT! I played with the mouse and keyboard for awhile. Then i switched to the xBox 360 controller. I think that I prefer the controller. I'm not a hardcore gamer more of a casual one at best. So I guess that I would have to finish the game. Before I could rerally tell you if I loved the whole thing. But so far. It's awesome!! Can't wait for part 2 for the 360!! :woot:

a1ien
because the engine is optimized to actually work on normal systems now As a longtime Crysis fan, let me tell you it'll not be a game changer and I'll be disappointed unless, like the original, the maximum settings drag our high-end rigs to slideshow speeds. Smigit
You just had to restart the game in the snow levels, it was a known bug - Happens to every game. ( Bugs, that is ) Yeah I'd restart but it still ran poorly. I just dropped down to some stupidly low res for that part of the game. But I mean theres bugs and huge performance issues like that which popped up on heaps of reviews...hell I didn't even play it for 2 - 3 months after release at which point I would have patched it up. I just think things like that taint what was an alright, not great but alright, game and leave a bit of a bad taste in the mouth especially on the final levels. Certainly don't think it was a bad game, I'd give it 7/10 or something and recommend it...I just expected more or perhaps something different. I hate it when people are just like "OMG CRYSIS SUCKS ITS ALL GRAPHICS" Its like, dude have you even played it or are you just crying that your system can't handle it? Its a damn fun shooter. I've replayed crysis way more than pretty much any other single player fps. My one gripe is the beginning levels are all so great and open but the later ones aren't, and the aliens aren't quite as good enemies.

Xerxes
Crysis is a great game but it's not that forgiving of a game No it wasn't, the thing that really irked me was the "bulletproof Koreans"....you could unload an entire shotgun into them at point blank range and they still don't die  and then they kill you in one shot...how is that even remotely fair? but if you get past that, it is quite fun...I like having firefights in the jungle and watching the trees falls down around you :p  Is Warhead a full sequel or is it more like an add-on? Think of Half-Life and it's expansions, it's a standalone "expansion" of sorts that happens at the same time as Crysis but from the perspective of a different character :)
