Xbox DLC Question

Recommended Posts

Hello guys!

I heard you cannot install game extentions (DLCs) without having played the game and having a game save.

My question is, is downloading the same as install?

I mean, can I download the DLC and install it later on when having played the game and therefore having the save?

Thing is, I will be without Internet access some days, in those days I'll get a game and darn, I want the extension to be there from day 0. xD

Thanks a lot in advance and Merry Christmas!

if the title requires an update

Title updates, as in the updates for games that you get prompted to download when you load it up while connected to the internet. If you aren't online, you can't get the update, and you might not be able to use the DLC pack. GTA IV without any title updates applied won't let you play Lost and Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony, for example.

Oh, since I'm new to Xbox 360, I thought I would get my updates from marketplace. Ah shoot, darn it...

I miss the old days of console games being without updates and actually I never needed them for stability.

Good old times...

I know what they do, still miss the old days when they were simply not needed for bug fixes(at least for the games I had on PS1 and the N64 at my friend's place)

Oh well...

No you just couldn't fix the bugs, unless you rereleased the game, not that they weren't needed. There were plenty of buggy N64 PS1 games.

I know, but I always have been able to finish my games and without frustration.

And I was a quick adopter of quite some games.

I am not saying that all games were good to go, but what I AM saying is, MY games were okay.
