MasterC
I was out the other day taking pictures at the beach, and I noticed something weird on one picture. Is that just a glitch that happened when the image was being written to the card?
WastedJoker
It's just a normal photo and nothing panoramic? Is it the only photo affected?
MasterC
It's just a normal photo and nothing panoramic? Is it the only photo affected? Yes, it's just a normal photo - not panoramic or anything like that. And so far, it's the only picture affected.
WastedJoker
I cannot explain why the part of the photo is both tonally different and displaced. Never seen anything like it.
0sit0
I have... when the picture is corrupted. There are some programs that claim can fix them but I never had any luck. I recommend you format your camera storage device just in case.
crazzy88ss
It's probably a glitch that happened during writing the image to the memory card. If it doesn't happen again, I wouldn't worry about it!
ashpowell
Yeah it sometimes happens when writing the data to a card it just writes some of the data incorrect

Prince Charming
The good news is, what you're seeing is rarely indicative of sensor failure, shutter failure, or any other kind of expensive, unfun failure. What you're looking at is purely an IO failure - either of the camera writing out the data to the card (which does very rarely but occaisonly screw up), or the card stuttering as data was written to it. Finally, it could have been as data was transferred from the card to the PC, but all bets are on that it's to do with the storage card itself, and nothing more serious. It's also likely just an isolated one-off unless you see this occuring more than once.
