... but few people still care how big their OS is...

They are nut/insane completely. I wonder they like bloatware, too. Example: installing Adobe CS4!

Can't pirate hard drives like you can Windows. :p

Somehow I think that that's the only reason this thread exists.

@Just For My Memory:

I bought a 1TB-HDD for 60 Euros. I would be insane if I DID care about a few GB. And it's very telling that you completely ignored the rest of my post.

Since 4 to 6 GB of RAM in computers is common: memory

7 is seen as bloated.: disk space.

Check again

Like I mentioned above, how small of a hard drive do you have?

Here let's strip down Windows 7 with no included drivers for ANYTHING and save about 1.5GB from the disc. So it would be a 900MB ISO. Then it would install to about 2-3GB and NOTHING would work since there's no drivers. Said person would have to try to somehow get drivers from another PC to a USB key (which wont work since it doesn't have mass storage drivers installed since they were removed), network drivers or something else to get the system up to date. It would be a lean machine because it wouldn't have anything on there.

Compared to Windows XP, It has smaller footprint with drivers. It still ran fine. Huh?

you're so positive. 8GB is measly? OMG. Don't compared yours to ordinary people.

WTF are you talking about here. He has a smaller hard drive than you do (about half the size) and even so he isn't going to complain about the installation size.

Dude, just get an external hard drive or something to store all your porn if you're running out of space.

They are nut/insane completely. I wonder they like bloatware, too. Example: installing Adobe CS4!

If CS4 is bloated, other dudes have made counter products (CS4 portable etc) and the same goes with Nero, dudes have made NeroLite. Good thing is, you have so many choices (Use older version, newer version, LiteVersion aka cooked aka custom version).

To certain point, there are products made by other companies which are better then old version (you are used to). I'm guessing Its the "change" bugging you, sad news is that time never stays the same. (which is a good news too)

I can even spot a few superbar bugs that were there eight years ago in XP. :(

Oh, OK. Now I know for sure that you are spouting nothing but BS. How can a superbar bug have existed in XP? Superbar was only introduced with 7!!

My friends are poor, I'm better a bit. I can get HDD, It's just expensive for most people in my country. I saw eBay and I hated it. I saw Neowin, Zdnet, Download.com, Betanews, WinBeta, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, IBM, Symantec,... Are you satisfied?

I'm sorry but after reading all your posts, most don't make any sense, and this last one even less...

Hey I just bought a Asus 1201n that brings a 250GB HDD for 400€...

Now you say you live in a poor country, ok fair enough..

But Windows isn't growing in space because of bloat, but because of higher resolution wallpapers included, higher resolution icons included, much more drivers included than XP, more fonts, more this more that.. Remember wallpapers from XP were 800x600 where in 7 there are if I remember correctly 1900x1080 wallpapers..

And 10GB of space in this day and age is not significant, I can buy already a 1TB external HDD for 80€ and while in your country ( Care to say in what country you live or you are hiding it on purpose? ) it may be very expensive the rest of world shouldn't wait for you to use new technologies..

And my country is by far not a rich country...

Well disk space is cheap was well. What's 25 GB when you have a 500 GB system.

My friend has 40GB drive. Not me. For my friends, for everyone had a small hard drive!

@JunkMail:

Not everything can have Lite counterpart.

@-TV- (03:41), @JunkMail (03:39):

-1, that solution didn't count

Finally, there is a complaint not from me.

And his complaint was full of BS. Superbar didn't exist in XP, so he couldn't possibly have seen a Superbar bug then. And he can't honestly believe that there have been no new features added to the OS.

If there is no LITE counterpart, there is a completely different counter part (a new company) again, you're scared of change (like i said earlier, and its normal) but sticking to something for longtime can get you lost from "NOW" which is all that matters :p

Past is "History", Future is "Mystery", its the Present that matters! (Watch KungFu Panda's turtle part) :D

They are nut/insane completely. I wonder they like bloatware, too. Example: installing Adobe CS4!

I have nearly 2 TB of disk space in my computer, and there is no way I would sacrifice the amazing functionality of Windows 7 for the mediocroty of XP for the sake of a few gigs of disk space. If you are more concerned about functionality than disk space, why don't you just install Windows 95? it only takes up about 250 MB of space.

If they can't afford a larger hard drive, how can they afford W7? Would their PCs even work with it?

Well we told how to solve your problem for your friend, problem solved. Now stop trolling.

Not solved by buying new HDD, wasting money.

Not completed until Microsoft trips down the bloated OS.
