Shadrack
Hi! Feeling burnt out on WoW and would like to try another MMO. I keep trying single-player RPG games, but something about them feels kind of empty. I tried DDO, but I didn't like the idea of the store. Also, a friend of mine has played for awhile and he doesn't seem to like how much the game leans towards melee classes. I'm tempted to try out WarHammer Online... Aion looks interesting, but seems to be getting really mixed reviews. Any other suggestions?
Geoffrey B. Veteran Posted December 31, 2009 Veteran Share Posted December 31, 2009 Runes of magic is almost a clone is the design aspect of World of Warcraft and it is free. I have had experience playing Silkroad online as well which is a rather nice game.
MR_Candyman
honestly, I still think warhammer online is a better game than wow. Shaiya is actually pretty decent, especially for a free mmo.

If anything is a clone of WoW, it sure as hell isn't RoM, however 4Story & Gates of Andaron (which is just another version of 4Story with a different name, however no real differences between the two), is a clone of WoW. Have you tried Atlantica Online, Sword of the New World or Granado Espada (the latter is the same game as Sword of the New World, however, Granado Espada is kept more up-to-date)? obiwong
Eve is probably the only other MMO out there worth trying the sovereignty system makes it one of the best MMOs out there
SMELTN
I am currently playing Runes of Magic, Allod's Online (which is in Closed beta 3, but you can find a beta key by searching http://allods.gpotato.com/ ) and Aion. I must say RoM is pretty dang close to being a wow clone, but its a ton of fun. Allod's Online is a lot of fun to and it actually has ship combat in it and PvP using ships, etc. Aion of course is getting mixed reviews because it is kinda iffy. I really just play Allod's right now since its in closed beta. Both Allod's and RoM are of course F2P games. There honestly isn't any good P2P MMO's out right now. Not until next year when Star Trek, Star Wars and Guild Wars 2 hit.

What do you mean its not a clone. I meant by visually a clone. Originally in the early beta it was running on the actual world of warcraft engine that they had taken from hosting a private server and other things. And then later in the beta Blizzard complained and they rewrote the engines. It visually still looks like WoW though
Cy-Kill
Seeing as how I was in all the Betas for RoM, I will disagree with you.

Cy-Kill
Free Realms is good as well, it is free to play, however, it also has a pay to play aspect as well. You can also try the MMO by Cartoon Network: FusionFall.
SMELTN
I forgot about Wizards 101 and Free Realms has gotten really good lately from what I was told. They have even added player housing to the game.
MR_Candyman
Have you tried Atlantica Online, Sword of the New World or Granado Espada (the latter is the same game as Sword of the New World, however, Granado Espada is kept more up-to-date)? I'm having a tough time even wanting to play Granado Espada. I signed up on their website (which took me to IAHGames to sign up. I then had to activate the game, which I did. That was 2 days ago now and still not activated! I've installed and patched and it says wrong username or password, so I know it's to do with this damn activation. BetaAddict
Defense of the Ancients (aka Dota) Just started playing after I finished the fall semester and it's got enough to keep me going for a long time. Still have a lot of stuff to learn, but it is a great way for me to waste a half hour or so in between classes or something.
Xilo
Real Life. Careful though. It only comes in hardcore mode. :p Seriously. I played EverQuest for 4 years, EverQuest II for 1 year, Final Fantasy XI for 4 years, and World of Warcraft for 3 years. Took me too long to realize what a waste of time they are and how much they screwed me up. Just stay away from them...

I'm not sure what the problem is, it should've activated your account right away, try logging into your account on IAHGames' web site, and see if you can get a new activation sent. Duality
Personally, the first MMO I ever played and the only one I will continue playing, is EVE Online. Fell in love with it right away :)

It activated around noon yesterday. I am always able to play for about 10 minutes then it disconnects me and I can't log in again because supposedly I logged in on a different computer (which I didn't and despite changing my password, it's still happening). I give up on this game, it looks cool, but I just don't want the aggrevation

Diabolii
Why play another MMO, ive seen alot of ppl go from WoW to other mmo's and always feel really disapointed But if your looking for a fun MMO, try Age of Conan, its cheap and its got full content till around lvl 55 then its all grindey(but well worth the experience) Aion is pure grind, and warhammer i hear is pretty boring. Startrek MMO looks promising as well but not out yet Sign up for the Final Fantasy MMO beta as well as that should be starting soon.
