still1
Found this article that compares the sales and market share of 3 big gaming platform. How are the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 performing against themselves and each other when compared to previous years? .Here we see data representing the global sales through to consumers, and change in sales performance, of the three home consoles over comparable periods for 2007, 2008 and 2009. Also shown is the market share for each of the consoles over the same periods. The PS3 has a massive week this week and manages to sell over 1m consoles. This is largely due to a 220% boost in Japan on the back of FF XIII, where it managed to outsell the Wii by approximately 50k units. The PS3 will finish the year up by around 27% The boost for the Wii this week is not as significant due to the huge boost it had last week on the back of retail offers. The Wii is down in line with its annual trend and will likely finish the year down around 16%. The 360 is up this week by 27%, but it is down year on year by 25%. Year on year - year to date sales are now down by around 6.5% and this will shortfall will increase slightly as the year draws to an end at around 7% down. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 7, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted January 7, 2010 Source VGChartz ain't exactly the best - They aren't THAT bad, take official NPDs and do piece together factual info, but it's still not better than hearing from the official sources. Still the PS3 is coming on leaps and bounds since the slim and price cut, and Q1/Q2 isn't half going to keep that trend going with the biiiiig named titles hitting.
