PS3 hack plays Blu-ray backups

You don't purchase every game that gets released. You buy the best game or whatever you like to play, it's going to be another cat and mouse game when it comes to playing online.

Why risk your console getting banned?

the burners arent the problem. the price of blank media makes this idea insane. i just checked a couple sites. a single 50GB blank disc is between $26-36.

more like <$10

Well, The xbox360 is much better, Dual layer dvds are cheaper, xbox is $199, Modding it $x amount, and thats it.

360 FTW!

And you get banned from LIVE.

Nice dude, the 360 "hacking" thread is in the other sub forum. Ciao!

On topic, it's interesting if this is true. But I'm not interested (yet).

I wouldn't be surprised if Sony released a new firmware shortly that packs some nice features. I'm sure they will have this patched somehow soon enough anyway.

Everyone seems to be skipping over my post which tells you this is fake. The guy claiming this works put a blank label over top of his legit PES PS3 game.

Indeed, I thought it was odd as its clearly a pressed, not burned disc.

Has anyone seen this ZPack?

That is fake, I'm away to check out what this video on page 1 claims.

There's been many fake PS3 hacks/mods over the years, youtube videos especially. There was one modchip that everyone drooled over in here a while back and it was found the guy actually stole a video of a normal person on youtube opening a PS3 and just cleaning the insides to be his "fitting of the modchip'"

Again this is very highly likely fake, pirates don't get all excited yet :p

given light of this new "hack" which looks like a PS3 slim unboxing video, Ill bet money that sony will catch on and patch it come next FW update

The recent Microsoft ban a mass number of console's follows the same story technique.

They found a way to detected the altered hardware.

Yeah, this would have been frontpage on many sites (including Neowin). It was odd that it wasnt so I guess fake.

Too bad though :( Would have been nice to see homebrew finally kicking off on the PS3 and the ability to play backups.

The PS3 running homebrew.........what power.
